Ques. What is the total fee for D.Pharma at SSGI Lucknow?
Ans. The total fee for the 2-year D.Pharma programme at SSGI Lucknow is INR 1,40,000, payable as INR 70,000 per year. This covers tuition for both years of the programme. Students from reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS) may apply for the UP Scholarship Scheme or GOI Post-Matric Scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal to reduce the effective cost.
Ques. Is D.Pharma at SSGI approved by the Pharmacy Council of India?
Ans. Yes. The D.Pharma programme at SSGI Lucknow is fully approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and is affiliated to the Board of Technical Education (BTE), Lucknow. PCI approval is mandatory for the diploma to be legally valid for pharmacy practice and for obtaining a drug licence to operate a retail or hospital pharmacy anywhere in India.
Ques. Is JEECUP required for D.Pharma admission at SSGI?
Ans. No. As per the official SSGI admission process, admission to D.Pharma is granted on the basis of 12th Science aggregate marks and a personal interview conducted at the college. Candidates are not required to qualify JEECUP for direct admission at SSGI. The application form is available at ssimt.edu.in for a nominal fee of INR 750.
Ques. What subjects are covered in the D.Pharma curriculum at SSGI?
Ans. The D.Pharma curriculum at SSGI covers Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy, and Drug Store Management over two years. The programme includes both theoretical lectures and practical laboratory sessions as prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India for all PCI-approved D.Pharma institutions.
Ques. Can I open a pharmacy after completing D.Pharma from SSGI?
Ans. Yes. After completing the D.Pharma programme from a PCI-approved institution like SSGI and registering with the UP State Pharmacy Council, graduates are eligible to open and operate a retail pharmacy or medical store. They may also work as pharmacy technicians in hospitals, clinics, and pharmaceutical distribution companies across the country.
Ques. What is the minimum eligibility to apply for D.Pharma at SSGI?
Ans. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, along with Biology, Mathematics, Biotechnology, or Computer Science as the third subject. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in these three Science subjects is required. The minimum age at the time of admission must be 17 years as specified by the Pharmacy Council of India.
