Ques. I performed well in CMAT, but I didn’t include SISTec in my list of preferred colleges – can I still get admission?
Ans. Yes – if there are still seats available and according to counselling rules. In Madhya Pradesh state counselling, you first enter your preferences during choice filling. If SISTec is not included in your first list, you can still be considered later if:
- you join the next rounds, and
- you include SISTec in your next choice lists or choose open choice.
But if you never include SISTec in any of your counselling choices, then the computer won’t be able to give you a seat there even if you’re eligible – and this is one of the reasons why seats are often left unfilled.
Ques. If I have missed the registration deadline for CMAT, am I totally excluded from the MBA process?
Ans. Not necessarily. While CMAT is the most important component of the MBA process for DTE counselling, there are a couple of not-so-straightforward ways to get in:
- Late registration periods (if notified by the NTA)
- State-level exemptions in exceptional cases (for those who hold professional degrees)
- Appeals with supporting documentation – in case of an administrative mistake
But these are exceptions, not the rule. The most straightforward and usual path is to register for CMAT on time and prepare for it, since a valid score is required to qualify for the merit list through DTE counselling.
Ques. Does work experience have any bearing on admission to SISTec?
Ans. In the case of the MBA program only, work experience does not substitute CMAT or counselling but may be an added advantage in interviews or profile evaluation sessions, if conducted by the institute internally after counselling. It indicates exposure to the real world, maturity, and preparedness for management education, which are desirable qualities to the faculty beyond mere marks.
Ques. Can a diploma holder apply for an MBA at SISTec Bhopal?
Ans. Diploma holders may be eligible if their diploma is recognized as equivalent to graduation by the affiliating university or concerned authority. They must produce valid documents for equivalence during counselling.
Ques. Can I change my specialization after admission?
