Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies Tiruvalla (MACFAST) is a Kerala based college that offers Post Graduate and Research courses. MACFAST is accredited from AICTE and is also affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University.

MACFAST offers full-time Post Graduate courses in Computer Application (MCA) and Business Administration (MBA).

• MACFAST began in 2001 with an objective to offer a specially designed course in Business Management and Information Technology for its students
• Application for MCA and MBA are accepted offline.

• Candidates interested to apply for MCA and MBA should have studied a 3-year degree course obtaining minimum 50% marks aggregate.

MACFAST Thiruvalla MBA Eligibility

• Candidate with Masters’ degree can also apply, with minimum aggregate marks of 55%. 
• For SC/ST candidates, they must have completed their graduation degree. No minimum percentage criteria for SC/ST candidates. 
• Final year graduate students can also apply, provided they have to produce their original documents for verification, within 60 days of the beginning of the session.
• Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PwD candidates has been made according to the rules of Govt of India. 
  • 15% of the seats for Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates
  • 27% for Other Backward Classes candidates
  • 10% for students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) 
  • 5% for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

MACFAST Thiruvalla MBA Selection Criteria

• Shortlisting of candidates for Group Discussion and Personal Interview are done on the basis of admission test scores. 
• Past academic scores and relevant work experience shall also be considered for shortlisting. 
• Candidates will have to arrive at MACFAST Thiruvalla for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The weightages for each parameter for final admission are: 
  • Entrance Examination Score : 80%.
  • Group Discussion : 10%.
  • Personal Interview : 10%.

• A merit list is drawn considering the above parameters and the weightages. Selected candidates are intimated regarding their selection over email. 
• If there is a tie while selection between two candidates;
  • Candidate with higher marks in qualifying exam will be ranked higher. If there is a still a tie;
  • Candidate, whoever is elder, shall be ranked higher than the younger candidate.

MACFAST Thiruvalla offers two year full time Lateral Entry and three year full time Master of Computer Applications degree program, affiliated to the M.G. University, Kottayam. 

MACFAST Thiruvalla MCA Eligibility

• Final year students can also apply for the course provided they need to produce their original degree certificate and mark sheets of graduation at the time of admission
• For SC/ST candidates, they must have completed their graduation degree. No minimum percentage criteria for SC/ST candidates
• In regular MCA program, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) will be given a relaxation of 2% marks and Physically handicapped candidates, a relaxation of 5%, in the aggregate minimum percentage criteria.
• In case of Lateral entry program, candidates belonging to both SEBC and physically handicapped categories must have a minimum aggregate marks of 45%. 
• Candidates who have completed their graduation by appearing more than one time in a subject will have their percentages reduced at the rate of 5%, for every additional appearance for the subject(s).

• Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of merit. Parameters like past academic scores, rank in the state entrance test (Kerala MCA) shall be considered .

• Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of three parameters. Graduation marks, Entrance Exam and Interview. Based on the graduation marks and marks scored in Entrance Test conducted by MG University, shortlisting of the candidates will be done. 
• Individual candidates will receive interview letter. Candidates must carry their original certificate while going for the interview.
