- Industry Sponsored Candidates: - Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Agriculture / Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 55% marks. Two years of industrial experience in a Food and/or allied industry is mandatory. Industry sponsored candidates have to submit an authentic certificate of sponsorship from the sponsor industry (format for sponsorship certificate).
- Defense Personnel: -
- Candidates presently serving and nominated by the Ministry of Defence, will be considered.
- Foreign Candidates: - 2 seats for foreign nationals who are interested in joining the M.Sc (FT) course. The eligibility criteria is a Bachelor’s degree in Science / Agriculture / Engineering / Technology, with English as the language of instruction. Ques. Can I still apply at CFTRI if I am in the final year of my degree?
Ans. Yes. you can apply at you final year, which many students do. Candidates just have to submit the proof of passing the qualifying degree with the required marks, before the admission is fianlised. Students do apply while they are waiting for their final year marks. But, they do need to submit the final-year marksheet during document verification. Failure to do so will cancel their application.
Ques. Can students from non-science background also apply at CFTRI?
Ans. Usually, students from science background tend to take up programs at CFTRI. The entrance examination tests the food science knowledge of students, and the entire curriculum is heavily science-based. Students from the non-science backgrounds might find it challenging in CFTRI, unless they have done enough science-based courses.
