For 2026, KCET option entry runs from July 8 to July 29, with Round 1 seat allotment expected on July 15. Karnataka students who have cleared their 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics at 45% or above are eligible to apply.
Ques. What is the total fee for BE AI and ML at SJCIT?
Ans. The total institutional fee for BE AI and ML at SJCIT is INR 11,60,000 for the four-year programme, at INR 2,90,000 per year. This covers tuition and all institutional charges. Hostel accommodation is optional and costs between INR 95,000 and INR 1,20,000 per year depending on room type.
Ques. What are the placement prospects for AI and ML students from SJCIT?
Ans. SJCIT’s Training and Placement cell reported 753 job offers in 2025 from 96 recruiting companies across engineering branches. Recruiters active on campus include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Amazon, HCL, and Bosch. The AI and ML programme became AICTE-approved in 2021 and is designed to prepare students for roles in machine learning engineering, data analysis, and AI application development across software and product companies.
Ques. Does SJCIT offer hostel facilities for BE students?
Ans. Yes, SJCIT provides hostel accommodation at the Chikkaballapur campus. Annual hostel fees range from INR 95,000 to INR 1,20,000 depending on room type. The campus sits on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad highway about 60 km from Bengaluru, making it accessible for weekend travel. Day scholar students from Bengaluru, Tumkur, and Kolar districts commonly commute to the campus using college-arranged transport options.
Ques. Is SJCIT autonomous and how does that affect the BE AI and ML curriculum?
Ans. SJCIT became autonomous under VTU, Belagavi, from the 2024-25 academic session. Autonomous status allows the college to design its own curriculum, set internal examination patterns, and update elective offerings without waiting for university-level approval cycles. For the AI and ML programme, this means the department can incorporate newer tools, frameworks, and industry projects into course work more quickly than a fully affiliated college could.
Ques. What documents are required at the time of reporting to SJCIT after seat allotment?
Ans. Students must carry original mark sheets of 10th and 12th standard, transfer certificate, migration certificate, KCET or COMEDK rank card, caste and income certificates if applicable, recent passport-size photographs, and Aadhaar card at the time of reporting. Students allotted under KCET must also carry the KEA allotment letter. Submitting photocopies of all documents at the time of reporting is mandatory for record verification by the admissions office.
