SJCIT Admission FAQs
Ques. Is direct admission possible at SJCIT for B.E. without KCET?
Ans. Yes, SJCIT accepts students to its B.E. programs under the Management Quota without a mandatory KCET score. Candidates can apply based on their Class 12 marks or with a valid COMEDK UGET / JEE Main score. The minimum eligibility of 45% in 10+2 with PCM (40% for SC/ST/OBC) remains mandatory for all routes.
Ques. Is SJCIT autonomous? Does it affect the admission or the degree?
Ans. Yes, SJCIT was granted autonomous status by the UGC and VTU in 2024-25 for 10 years (until 2035). The college now designs its own curriculum, question papers, and internal assessment structure, while the degree is still awarded by VTU. For admission, the process (KCET / COMEDK / KEA counseling) remains unchanged. The Autonomous tag directly benefits students through a more industry-relevant, frequently updated curriculum compared to regular VTU-affiliated colleges.
Ques. I have 66% in Class 12, can I still get B.E. CSE at SJCIT?
Ans. Yes. With 66% in Class 12 with PCM, you are eligible for all 9 B.E. programs at SJCIT the minimum is 45% (General) or 40% (SC/ST/OBC). For CSE under the government quota, your KCET / COMEDK rank will be the deciding factor. If your rank falls outside the CSE cutoff band, the management quota is a viable second route where Class 12 merit plays a larger role than rank alone. With 66%, you comfortably qualify for management quota CSE admission subject to seat availability.
