Gour Mahavidyalaya is located in the district of Malda, West Bengal. The institute offers different courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Education, Mass Communication, Physical Education providing degrees such as B.Sc Hons, BA (Hons & General), BCA as a self financed course etc. The college also provides PG courses through distance mode under Rabindra Bharati University. Applications are invited online. Like most colleges in India, Gour Mahavidyalaya also takes students every year by the following criteria:

Ans. The infrastructure of Gour Mahavidyalaya is good. It has big well aerated classrooms as well as laboratories. Apart from it the college also has a library, computer center, seminar room, student health home and canteen, workshops, NSS, career counselling cell etc.
Ques. Is there any reservation criteria followed by Gour Mahavidyalay?
Ans. Yes. As per the instructions of Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal, the college has seats reserved for students in following manner:
- 22% seats are reserved for SC students.
- 0.6% for ST students
- 2 seats in each Honors course are for Physically Handicapped Students out of total 113 seats.
- 3% PH quota is separated from the total intake capacity.
Ques. Does Gour Mahavidyalaya provide any accommodation facility?
Ans. The college has a boy’s hostel, Sibram Chatrabas which provides hostel facility to 60 male students. Application of students from distant areas is given a priority. The girl’s hostel of the college is under construction and will be available soon.
