My Journey at Jyothi : Good festivals,learning

Likes

supportive faculty with good teaching methods and helpful mentorship
decent campus infrastructure with good classrooms,labs,and library
friendly campus environment with opportunities to participate in events and clubs.

Dislikes

placement opportunities could be improved with more companies visiting campus
some administative processes are slow and need better management
limited extracurricular activities and industry exposure for students

Placement Experience:

Studends eligible from 6th sem.Top recruiters Infosys,TCS.Highest package 12LPA,avg 4LPA. 75% placed. My plan is to get placed via campus drive.and a secure a job through a campus and also upskill in technologies.

The campus infrastructure is so beautiful and eco friendly. There are many places like Alumini corner, Canteen, Jyotsana for relax with friends.
The techfest 'Tharang' is awesome. Every year, our college is conducting it and its awesome.
The department faculties are highly knowledgeable. In our projects, the mentors guided us properly.

Dislikes

The hostel is so strict. All the students need to enter the hostel before 6:30pm.
At present, the placements are good but can be better. In our class below 50% students only get placed.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

JECC is not for the weak.

Likes

The surroundings of my college was very eco friendly and closer to nature with lots of greenery and different varieties of bamboo plantations. The overall campus was maintained neatly under constant supervision.
The faculty members are very much qualified for their roles and helps the students whenever needed.
The canteen food was of good quality and was affordable.

Dislikes

Lift facility to my department was unavailable and it was installed later after my graduation.
No kind of celebrations were promoted inside the campus other than an yearly 2 day techfest.
The access road from the main road to the campus is narrow and creates a lot of traffic at the time of college opening and closing. Recently they are trying to widening the road.

Internships Opportunities:

I have attended 2 internships in my college life. One was with the ULCCS and other in a private interior design and construction company. Both was of two weeks and no stipend were given. In the ULCCS it was a bridge construction site. And in the company i got to do lots of AutoCAD works.

I like the nature of the college. It is very good nature ind there.
You can make good friends out there . I’m sure about it.
The teachers are very freindly. They will help you in any thing.

Dislikes

There are steps and only one lift is there.

Internships Opportunities:

There are many internships. Some of them are held in our own college and also we can go out for interships with the permission letter if HOD and the principle. The internship is mainly about coding related to my coarse that I have chosen.

Likes

Athmoshere of college is an amazing factor. The campus is eco friendly & a lot bamboo trees are there which felt as a postive factor. We have an open gym where we can workout during lesiure time
We have a tech fest named Tharang which is held on 2 days on odd semesters. It is great event & important event of the college. We have coding session, motor show, gaming sessions, conserts etc., which is a kind of stress busters.
Faculty is really helpful & Academics are going in a systematic ways which helps the students learn more. Skill development & other coding related course awareness are given by the respective faculties which is very helpful.

Dislikes

Sometimes i felt like the college is a little bit strict.

Internships Opportunities:

WE have INTEGRATED INDUSTRIAL INCUBATION CENTER in college which is in collabration with tata. I havent done any internships from there so im not well aware of the intrenship. i hope more intenship opprtunities will be provided. Faculty encourage interships which can be done from out of campus

Department faculties were very supportive and helpful
All department have expertized faculties with strong mentorship quality
Good infrastructure and technologically advanced learning facilities

Dislikes

Doesn't giving much importance to non-curricular activities
They only conduct hackathon, Internships rarely
Canteen facility should be improved and need to be extended

Placement Experience:

Seventh semester onwards we got placement offers. Around 15+ companies visited which related to technical and non-technical job roles. Companies include TCS, Titan steel(TEAL), South Indian Bank, Mitsogo, UST global, Speridian, Haritha Techserv, Cognizant. Highest package around was South Indian Bank which offered 12 LPA and average package were almost 4.5 LPA. Around 70 percentage of students got placed through campus placement. My plan is to go for the placement provided by the college for the experience

An Electrical and Electronics Engineering experience in Jyothi Engineering College

Likes

The faculty in the college is very helpful and are always ready to clear the doubts no matter how long it takes.
The infrastructure of the college is really beautiful as it is located on top of a hill.
The college fest called tharang, which is a two day event is a must attend programme.

Dislikes

The uniform should have been of a darker shade so that it doesn’t get dirty very fast.
WiFi in the college is restricted where a student cannot access different websites even if it’s for projects or education.
The programs conducted in the auditorium are sometimes not audible properly because of the acoustics.

Placement Experience:

Students are usually eligible for placements from the seventh semester. Companies that visited including South Indian Bank,TCS,Infosys,LGB industries,Haritha Techserv were I got placed. The offer usually varies from 2,50,000 to 12,00,000 per annum, where South Indian Bank provided the highest package. Almost 60 to 70%of the students got placed this year into various companies.I am currently doing my training with Haritha Techserv after which I'll start my job.

The college environment is positive and amazing
The faculty members are very supportive and friendly
The technical event tharang was superb and informative

Dislikes

I don't like the weekly exams. Even though it was helpful at times it felt like it wasn't done in a proper way.
Only some of the classes are air conditioned. It would be better if all the classes are like that.
The canteen of the college needs a urgent renovation. It is like an eyesore to the whole infrastructure of the college.

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards the college will train for our placement. we have placement training classes for aptitude,c programming, python etc. The companies visited is harita techser, qburst,TCS.The average package is 450000 and also around 40% of students got placed at different companies.

Electrical and electronics engineering at Jyothi Engineering College

The mentorship quality of the faculties and their relationships with students are very friendly in most of the departments.
The monthly student council meeting for each department to discuss how to improve the methods of teaching as well as studying along with the other problems was effective to a great extent.
The tech fest conducted each year and the extra curricular activities are very memorable.

Dislikes

The placement cell was very much better compared to the other colleges as we got much more placements. But the qualities of the job given to the students can be improved much better
The lab facilities we get is good. The lab faculties are also of great help. But rather than doing some fixed experiments there is no further development in the practical knowledge of the students. The college should take more initiative in this.
The college infrastructure is very good. The only problem is that the canteen is not very hygienic. The building is very old and it needs a quick remodeling.

Internships Opportunities:

The internships are mainly department related. We went to an internship at Sark cables private limited, kanjikode, Palakkad. It was an internship through we learnt about the manufacturing of the cables that are used for electrical applications. The internships was very good experience. Similar course related internships are offered by each department. As our department project we have made an electrical car. The department and aluminis was very supportive for the venture. It was a great experience for our batch.

Good Campus and enjoyed the time in there.

Likes

The college had good teachers. They where very good at teaching. Core subject where taken by good teachers.
The labs of the college where good. We had all the equipments to study. And also
The college had good cultural fests like tharang.

Dislikes

Some teachers weren't teaching properly. Like the subject circuits and networks. The teacher who taught us this subject was not teaching properly.
In labs teachers where not involved in teaching. They where there only to sign record books. The lab assistants where good and they ehere teaching properly.
The college is situated in a hill place and had to walk 1 km to college from bus stop.

Internships Opportunities:

There where good internship oppertunities. I got internship at keltron, tata power solar. In tata power solar we where sales and marketing trainees. In keltron it was fire and safety. There where projects and the whole class contributed to make an electric car.
