Ans. No. B.Tech admission at JIST is through Assam CEE conducted by DTE Assam and is restricted to permanent residents of Assam. Candidates from outside Assam are not eligible for CEE counselling at JIST. Non-Assam students may consider the B.Sc programmes at JIST, which are open to all Indian citizens through CUET-UG.

Ans. The INR 10,000 token amount paid at DTE Assam counselling is adjusted against the first-semester institutional fee at JIST. It is not an additional charge. After seat allotment, students pay only the remaining balance of the institutional fee when reporting to JIST for enrolment.

Ans. Yes. Polytechnic Diploma holders from AICTE-recognised institutions with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC, 40% for ST) are eligible for lateral entry to the 2nd year of B.Tech at JIST.
