The Institute of aircraft management engineering (IAME) offers two courses to candidates wishing to pursue a career in aircraft maintenance and avionics. Through the courses, the institute plans to provide necessary theoretical and new perspective knowledge to the students to acquire an AME License, issued by DGCA.

These courses offer to its students through theoretical and practical knowledge of Aircraft structure & Aero engines. The institute strives to offer its students first-hand knowledge of all the correct maintenance practices & inspection procedures to be followed during aircraft maintenance. The course details are as follows:

Selection Criteria

The institute of aircraft maintenance engineering offers 2 courses for aspirants to pursue. The admissions will be based on entrance test score and qualifying marks in 10/ +2.

Procedures for admission:

If an aspirant wishes to apply to a particular course and take admission at the institute they are offered two methods through which they may do that. They are as follows:

AME CET:

AME Common entrance test (CET) is an entrance test conducted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt of India. It allows candidates with admissions into aviation and aircraft maintenance courses.
The applicants who apply to this course must have selected PCM in 10/+2 and passed the exam / cleared a 3-year engineering diploma program with mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects.
The exam will be conducted both in online and offline mode and, it consists of 90 MCQs. The exam is of a duration of 1 and a half hours. The exam's syllabus includes Physics, Chemistry Mathematics, English, General Awareness, and Aptitude.
Based on the marks scored in this exam, candidates will be requested to appear for counselling and further procedure. A merit list will be created out of the selected candidates and displayed on the official website.

Management quota:

Candidates coming under the categories listed below may apply through management quota and these students will be selected based on the score from the previous qualifying exam.

The eligibility criteria for the candidates are as follows:

Intake:

The segregation of seats at the institute is done based on results in the qualifying examinations. The total intake of seats for students qualifying AME CET is 70% and students who are allotted management quota seats is 30%.

Foreign Nationals:

Foreign nationals are also eligible to apply for the course at this institute. The eligibility criteria are equivalent to the abovementioned criteria for Indian students. He/ she must possess valid documents such as Visa & Passport etc.

Prior permission obtained from DAW (Training), DGCA New Delhi, through RAO/ Sub RAO is also a requirement for foreign nationals.

Ques. What are the practical training protocols followed by IAME, Aurangabad?

Ans. As per regulations at least 30 % of practical training shall be conducted in an actual Aircraft Maintenance environment. To fulfill this requirement, the IAME has entered into a long term agreement with Indamer Aviation Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai and Air India, Mumbai for imparting practical training to the students. The duration of practical training will be a total duration of 288 hours, which will be covered in separate phases.

Ques. What is the total intake for the courses offered at IAME, Aurangabad?

Ans. Category B 1.1: Aeroplane Turbine is a course of the duration of 2 years and has a total intake of 60 students. Category B2: Avionics is also a course of the duration of 2 years and has a total intake of 30 students.

Ques. What is the fee structure for hostel and mess facilities at IAME, Aurangabad?

Ans. For accommodation in hostels, students will have to pay INR 2000 per month. The combined fee has to be paid every six months. The charge for the mess is INR 13,000 which is to be paid per semester.
