CMS College of Engineering and Technology BE Courses Admission 2024
For admissions into BE course, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by Anna University. Candidates who have passed HSC with 50% marks (45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST) in PCM subjects are eligible to apply.
They must have done Class 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th from an institute located in Tamil Nadu. However, if an applicant belongs to Tamil Nadu but has passed these classes in any other states, then he/she is required to produce a “Nativity Certificate" during the counselling process.
The admission will be done through the TNEA Merit/ Rank list only. The rank list is prepared based on the marks in the PCM subjects reduced to 200 i.e. Mathematics 100, Physics +Chemistry =100. The counselling for the admission will be organized by Anna University.

- Only those candidates who have done HSC from Tamil Nadu or are native of TN are eligible to apply in TNEA.
- 5% relaxation in qualifying exam is given to backward class candidates and 10% relaxation is given to SC/ST/SCA/MBC category candidates.
- Wards of central Government employees not domiciled in this state may also apply provided their parents or guardians have been serving continuously in this state for 5 years at the time of submission of application.

At Postgraduate level, it offers Masters of Engineering course in two disciplines. Candidates who have passed BE in the relevant field with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply.
Admission to ME is provided on the basis of the performance of the candidates in GATE/TANCET. The eligibility table is given below:-

Candidates aspiring for admission to B.E degree course at CMS college of Engineering and Technology have to apply for TNEA. They have to follow the following steps to complete the application process.
- Go to website www.tnea.ac.in and fill the application form.
- Application fee can be paid through both online and offline mode.
- In online mode, candidates have to pay INR 500 for general candidates and for reserved candidates fee is INR 250.
- In Offline Mode of payment candidates have to pay INR 700 for general category and INR 450 if the candidate belongs to SC/ ST / OBC category.

- Candidates will have to sit for counselling after the submission of application form.
- The Anna University will conduct the TNEA Counselling in the month of June.
- In counselling, candidates will be called in the order of their merit.
- Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment of the branch/college chosen by the candidate will be made.
- They have to pay an initial deposit of 5000/- (1000/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) by Cash or DD and produce all their original certificates when they attend counseling.
For ME courses
Admission to ME courses of the institute is based on GATE or TANCET. Based on the performance of the candidate in the exams and according to the guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu candidates will be allotted seats via state counseling after TANCET.
In order to apply for TANCET, candidates need to follow steps:
- Application form for TANCET can be obtained at www.annauniv.edu/tancet.
- Fill the registration form and obtain the Login id and password.
- Use this login id and password to fill the application form.
- Pay the application fee of INR 500 (INR 250 for reserved category candidates). The fee is to be paid through online mode.
