Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Diploma in Engineering (Diploma in Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology) from a recognised board with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).

Candidates must appear in JELET (West Bengal Joint Lateral Entry Test by WBJEEB) and participate in WBJEEB counselling for seat allotment.

Lateral entry students join directly at the second year (third semester) of the 4-year B.Tech programme, effectively completing the degree in 3 years.

Check JELET 2026 results on the WBJEEB portal (expected early July 2026) and note your rank, score, and category.

Register on the WBJEEB counselling portal when the schedule is announced (expected July 2026). Exercise college and branch preferences, including BITM Santiniketan.

If allotted BITM, report for document verification within the deadline stated in the allotment letter and bring all original certificates.

Pay the first-year fee at the BITM admissions office and complete MAKAUT university enrolment to formally join the programme.
