BNCET Diploma FAQs
Ques. Can I choose any diploma branch at BNCET or does my JEECUP rank determine the branch?
Ans. Your JEECUP rank and branch preferences together determine which branch you receive at BNCET. During JEECUP centralised counselling, you fill in college-branch combinations in preference order. If your rank is sufficient for your top choice at BNCET, that branch is allotted; otherwise, the next eligible preference is assigned. Listing all five branches at BNCET in your preference list improves the chance of any allotment.
Ques. How does B.Tech lateral entry work after a diploma from BNCET?
Ans. After completing the three-year BTEUP diploma, you can apply for B.Tech second-year lateral entry through UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admissions Counselling) for UP engineering colleges. A JEECUP Group K score is required for lateral entry. You directly enter the second year of a relevant B.Tech programme, completing the degree in three more years instead of four.
Ques. Is the BNCET diploma recognised for UP government junior engineer posts?
Ans. Yes. BTEUP-affiliated diplomas from AICTE-approved institutions like BNCET are recognised for junior engineer and technical assistant posts in Uttar Pradesh government departments, including PWD, UPPCL, UP Jal Nigam, and local municipal bodies. Candidates must verify specific recruitment notifications, as eligibility requirements can vary by position and issuing authority.
Ques. What is the difference between Diploma in Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering at BNCET?
Ans. Diploma in Electrical Engineering covers power systems, electrical machines, wiring, and industrial drives, and is suited for roles in power utilities, maintenance, and UPPCL. Diploma in Electronics Engineering focuses on circuits, microcontrollers, consumer electronics, and PCB design, targeting telecom, electronics servicing, and instrumentation roles. Choose Electrical if you want power and utility careers, and Electronics if you prefer devices and circuits.
Ques. Can students from states other than Uttar Pradesh apply to BNCET diploma through JEECUP?
Ans. JEECUP is the centralised counselling for Uttar Pradesh polytechnic admissions and is primarily for candidates from UP. However, students from other states may apply if they meet the Class 10 eligibility criteria. Seats under the general category at private polytechnics like BNCET may be accessible to out-of-state candidates during later counselling rounds when seats remain vacant. Contact the JEECUP board or BNCET admissions office to confirm eligibility for non-UP domicile candidates.
