College: everyone dream of

Likes

I liked the faculty of our college and their behaviour students and other stuff.

Dislikes

I personally dislike our canteen food which could be improved by maintaining some hygiene.

Our college provide variety of programs and curriculum which attracts students to explore their choices. I have choosen history and this help me to face real world and I will further pursue my academic study in this course.

A SURPRISINGLY GOOD COLLEGE

Likes

Friendly teachers and a very comfortable study environment. I never felt pressured to excel and always got supported to excel if that makes sense.
The library is well equiped with study cubicles, air conditioning, big collection of books and journals and magazines, and friendly staff who were always helpful.
The classrooms were well equipped with TVs and sound systems for studies and also when we didn't have classes we were free to use them to listen to music in the condition that we kept the volumes low enough to not disturb others.

Dislikes

The gate was kept close till 3pm and often times we had to get permission from teachers or the principal to get outside. It is not a school. You cannot force people in like that. Those who came to study will do so regardless of distractions.
The toilets were always dirty and smelly. The only time they would clean them is during elections so that the candidates for the common room secretaries could milk votes from students. Other than that it was plain horrendous.
The lack of internship opportunies were kind of dissappinting. It is true that it is a small town college but still the opportunities felt scarce.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When you carefully look at the curriculum you will find that everything was interconnected all along. The things you learn in earlier semesters always come in handy in the following semesters. It was as if somebody carefully planned it, weaving every piece of literature and scripture they could find. From my side I was very satisfied with the curriculum. There will be times when you will be forced to go against your ideologies to write an answer but from what I have observed, the teachers in this specific course are very accomodating to independent thoughts and opinions. 8/10

BA in History in Duliajan college

Admission:

My admission was based on merit following a short interview with the principal of the college. My percentage in 12th was 76 percent and the cutoff was 75 percent so I got direct admission into the college.
