Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital Pondicherry Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital offers MBBS degree courses at the undergraduate level. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects: English, Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.

Candidates should not be below 17 years of age at the time of Application process. Blind (including color blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

Admission is done on the basis of NEET UG Scores or CET Score. The merit list will be prepared for all categories based on candidates scores in NEET UG or CET. 

Selection of candidates for admission to the MBBS course will be based on the merit list prepared by the Association on the basis of the entrance examination(s). The admission of the candidates will be provisional subject to the recognition of his/her qualifying CET.

Key Points for UG Admissions:

• All SC/ST candidates are eligible for the relaxation of 10%.
• For students belonging to SC/ST, the maximum number of appearances (including the first appearance) permitted to pass the CET is two and one for others.
• The age will be reckoned as on December 31 of the current year. There is no upper age limit prescribed.
• The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years except for those admitted against seats reserved for Non-Resident Indians.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, Pondicherry offers Doctor of Medicine(M.D.) degree in 15 specializations and Master of Surgery(M.S.) degree in 5 specializations at the postgraduate level.

Candidates who have passed MBBS from any Medical college which is recognized by the medical council of India. Candidates should have completed his/her rotating internship for one year after passing the MBBS examination on or before April 30 are eligible to apply.

Candidates must have got themselves registered(Provisional or Permanent) with any Medical Council (State or Central) to be eligible.

Selection is done on the basis of NEET PG entrance examination or CET conducted by the association. The merit list will be prepared for all categories based on candidates scores in NEET PG or CET. Candidates who clear the cut-off score set by the association will be called for the admission process.

Counselling will be conducted by the Pondicherry University and the name of candidates who clear the cut-off score will be forwarded to SMVMCH, Pondicherry to complete the admission process.
