Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, located in Pondicherry, is one of the campuses of BIHER Chennai. It was founded in the year 2007. The institute offers MBBS, B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Allied Health Science, MD/MS programs at UG and PG level. It also offers Ph.D. courses at research level.

Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Admission 2024

The MBBS programme offered by the institute is in two areas, namely, Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

  • The duration of the course is 4 years and 6 months.
  • The students must go for one year long internship.
  • There is a total of 150 seats for this programme.

The admission to the programme is done through an entrance examination. The entrance examination will carry questions based on the syllabus of senior secondary school. For applying, student must fill in the application form correctly in their handwriting. It is mandatory to attach the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) mark sheet and other required photocopies of the original documents, attested. There is also a medical examination conducted by the university and only candidates who are declared fit will be allowed to pursue the course.

Course Eligibility
M.B.B.S. 

Candidates must have completed their HSC examination/senior secondary school in 10+2 pattern from any State/CBSE/ISC Board school or passed any other examination holding equivalent value with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology. He/she must have secured minimum eligibility marks in order to be eligible for the admission procedure.

The students are required to meet various eligibility criteria enlisted below to seek admission in MBBS course:

  • It is also required that the candidate must have completed 17 years of age on 31 December in the respective year of academics.
  • The university verifies his/her age according to the age mentioned in the candidate’s HSC/CBSE/ISC grade card or in the Birth Certificate/ Passport.

Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences B.Sc & M.Sc in Allied Health Sciences Admission 2024

The B.Sc and M.Sc programmes application forms and prospectus are available for interested candidates via Post  at the Bharath University campus. Candidate must pay a fee of Rs. 500/- and if it is to be received via Postal Order, then a fee of Rs. 600/- paid via Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Bharath University, Chennai”. It is mandatory to mention the name of the course. The application forms are also available online on the university website. The M.Sc Nursing programmes requires candidates to be registered with the Nursing Council of any State.

Candidate must have completed their high school or senior secondary school from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or passed any other examination holding an equivalent value from any other State Board.

He/she must hold a B.Sc. /B.Sc. (Hons)/Post basic B.Sc. in Nursing with an average minimum of 55% to 60% marks from a recognized university or institute.

After B.Sc. or Post Basic Nursing, it is mandatory for the candidate to have a working experience of one year at least.

He/she must have a registration as a nurse/midwife State Nursing Registration Council.

Masters in Public Health (MPH) Candidate must have completed their high school or senior secondary school from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or passed any other examination holding an equivalent value from any other State Board with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology with an average minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST students).
