JNMC Ph.D. (Pathology) Admission 2026
KAHER conducts Ph.D. admissions twice a year - Batch A (January joining) and Batch B (June/August joining). For the 2026-27 Batch A cycle, applications closed on 29 December 2025, and the entrance exam was held in the first week of January 2026. The Batch B 2026-27 cycle is expected to open in April 2026. Admission is based on a written entrance examination (70% weightage) followed by a personal interview (30% weightage), with a minimum combined score of 50 out of 100 required for selection.

Entrance Exam Details
The Ph.D. admission at KAHER is through a university-conducted entrance examination. There is no separate national-level exam required; however, candidates who have qualified UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED or similar national-level tests are directly eligible for the interview without appearing for the KAHER entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold an MD (Pathology) or MS degree, or M.Sc. in Pathology/Medical subjects from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/differently-abled candidates).
- For Para-Clinical subjects like Pathology, candidates with M.Sc. in Pathology under the medical faculty as recognised by UGC with 55% marks are also eligible.
- Candidates holding UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE fellowship with the necessary qualification are eligible as full-time research scholars.
- Part-Time Internal candidates must be faculty members in KAHER constituent colleges; Part-Time External candidates must be employed in other recognised institutions with a No Objection Certificate from their employer.
Admission Process
- Visit kaher.edu.in and check the notifications section for the Ph.D. admission announcement (published twice a year).
- Fill and submit the online application form on or before the specified deadline.
- Appear for the KAHER Ph.D. Entrance Examination (50% Research Methodology + 50% Subject-specific syllabus).
- Candidates scoring 50% or above in the entrance exam are called for a personal interview before the Ph.D. Admission Committee.
- Final selection is based on 70% weightage for entrance exam and 30% for interview performance; minimum combined score of 50/100 required.
- Selected candidates report to the Head of the Institute, pay prescribed fees, and are allotted a Research Supervisor as per UGC Regulations 2022.
- Pre-Ph.D. course work commences immediately after joining (Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Research Ethics, subject-specific training).
