Academics is very well going in the campus.

Faculty:

Faculties are there for the students studying here. Often faculties share a good bond with students. Daily based class tests are conducted. In additon the course have two term exams and one model exam and a final exam each year.

We have 400 Faculties who are best doctors in kerala.Mentor student teaching methods is mostly used. We follow CBME curriculum proposed by NMC.we have yearly exam which are bit tough.affliated to KUHS.

There would be internal exams every 2 to 3 months .the marking schemes are veey strict .people just pray so that they atleast could pass the exam .the facultys are good enough and very interactive friendly and helpful .university exam is conducted every year which decides whether you go to the next session .

There are 250 students in a class room . 3 departments there will personal mentor for each student's some of the faculties are very good but some I don't like , almost 225 students pass the university. 20+ faculties in each department

Attachment feeling with seniors and staffs. Whole atmosphere of medical college,where it keeps us always busy

Total 3 internals + university exam : 3rd internal ( actually model exam) + best of the two internal exams will be choosen for calculating internal scores. Criteria to write university exam: minimum internals attainment (theory 40% + 60%practical) + minimum attendance 80%

Medicos era

Class strength is 250 per batch which is fun but attention will not be present in common classes in initial years

Faculty student relationship is not very much possible because of higher student ratio and lesser days of posting in each department. Faculties are well qualified and experienced. There will be 3 sessional exams in an academic year and the 3rd sessional is the model exam. Then you will have the final university exams each year. There will be end posting exams after each posting also

Inside Trivandrum Medical College

There is a very good relationship between teachers and students.They help in any of our problems. Uneshan sir is one among them who is really really helpful for us. Mainly there are 3 internal exams and a university exam which are easy to pass if we study average.

Through the Lens - Trivandrum Medical College

Faculties are well qualified doctors. Most of them have multiple researches to their credit. Most of them are approachable enough. Sometimes they get extremely busy with their duties. Only teachers of non clinical subjects are present in the college, rest of the professors of clinical subjects are present in the hospital. But you can also approach housesurgeons and postgraduate students for help during clinics.

Exploring Trivandrum Medical College - UG life

Faculties have great qualifications and so much years of experience. We are learning about things from patients and examining them amd they motivate us to do better in every levels .

Being a class of 250 or more when additional batches adds up the attention to each student in lecture class may be reduced .

For lecture hours all students sit together so the faculty to student ratio is 1 :250 so attention to students may be reduced. But after that there are separate practical sessions where 250 students are divided into batches of four each batch consisting of 65 or 66 students. In those practical sessions there are 1 or 2 teachers so the faculty to student ratio is 1:33 so faculty given attention to each one of them and are well taught and mananged. There are separate mentor groups in each subjects where each faculty mentors 20 students and help them out academically and emotionally. The faculty does weekly meetings and small group discussions are conducted on some academic topics.This helps student to improve their knowledge and skill. Faculties are well educated and have medical experience of over our age so they are well motivated and enthusiastic to make us study. Some Faculties are really friendly and we can even contact them for doubts on phone .

The govt medical college trivandrum is one of the best colleges in the country. It has a NIRF rank of 44. The college has a very good faculty for all the subjects.

The college has a very good faculty , they will provide us whatever things that are required to excel in their respected subjects with will also promote the students to learn more. As there are about 250 students from a batch , a faculty member will be focusing on 10-15 students through the whole academic year with is a very good approach.
