GMC Amritsar Faculty: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 22 Reviews

The faculty at the college is generally well-qualified, with many holding postgraduate and doctoral degrees, and they have considerable teaching experience. The faculty-to-student ratio is reported to be approximately 1:25, although at times one teacher may be responsible for up to 250 students, which can hinder personalized interaction and audibility in large classes. The faculty members are noted for their expertise and ability to communicate effectively, although some reliance on presentations can reduce interactivity.

Practical training is emphasized, with hospital staff assisting in practical sessions. The college infrastructure, including hospital and hostel facilities, is well-regarded. Exams are frequent, with major assessments being pre-term, mid-term, send-up, and final exams; the final exams have a high pass rate of 95-97%. The average student age is 19 years, typically with a +2 medical qualification.

Faculty:

Faculties are quite good and communicable also. I like the way Anuradha mam in Anatomy teaches and Jaspreet Sir in pathology also. I honestly don't like the attend classes of SPM. Faculties are good I respect Faculty to student ratio is around 1: 25 I can say There are lot of exams but the main ones are pre term mid term sendup and final Also quizes and other internal exams also there Honestly if I speak nearly less then 1/3rd are able to pass the exam but in final exam like 95 to 97 percent clear it

Faculty student relationship is very good and faculty is easily approachable , we can go anytime during college hours to them and ask about any doubt and they are more than happy to help us There are like final exams at the end of every prof but in between there are class tests and mid terms for our preparation

Faculty:

Faculty is rather less approachable. They are not much involved personally with any student unless a student gets caught doing something too rubbish. One thing I don't like is some faculty members will use students for everything but will never support them when they need it. Prime example is Dr. Mridu Gupta (HOD Physio)

The faculty members are well experienced doctors. They are cooperative and understanding. The faculty to student ratio is very less. There is one teacher for 250 students so it affects the teaching environment. The PGs are present in class. All in all the faculty is good and helpful.

Faculty:

The faculty-to-student ratio is good. At a time, one teacher teaches about 250 students. This hampers our studies. Sometimes the teachers aren't even audible in the last rows. The faculty is well qualified, mostly mbbs doctors but they don't teach very well. Some of them just read PPTs. There is less interaction with students. You cannot expect personal attention. All in all the staff is good, but the teaching can be improved.

Faculty:

If we consider that the faculty-to-student ratio is low more students in a batch like in other colleges in India, its very difficult for a teacher to maintain discipline with double no.of students in other colleges. but there are Pgs that maintain the discipline of lecture theatre. but all faculty members have knowledge up to depth of subjects. they use simple and easy methods to teach.
