The Advanced Center for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), which has the mandate to function as national centre for research, treatment and education in cancer is R & D satellite of Tata Memorial Centre and comes under Tata Memorial Hospital. This, autonomous and grant-in-aid institution comes under the Department of Atomic Energies, Government of India and the governing council is headed by the Chairman of  Atomic Energy Commission.
