- Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Ottawa is offered as a 4-year teaching program.
- The Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Electrical and Computer Engineering (OCIECE) combines the research strengths of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Ottawa and the departments of Electronics and of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University.
- The Institute offers graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Applied Science (MASc), Master of Engineering (MEng) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
- Some of the main courses that students will study in this program are:
- Computer and software engineering
- Digital and wireless communications
- Microwave and electromagnetics
- Signal, speech, and image processing
- Integrated circuits and devices
- In accordance with the University of Ottawa regulation, students have the right to complete their assignments, examinations, research papers, and theses in French or in English.
- The student to faculty ratio is 16:1 which bridges the gap between faculty and students.
- Students are responsible for ensuring they have met all of the thesis requirements.
- The thesis must be based on original research carried out under the direct supervision of a research faculty member in the Department.
