Course Curriculum

  • Most of the master-level courses are moderate to difficult level so if you do not follow properly, chances are you will fail and you will have to reappear in the exam and this is very common in some advanced-level courses; almost 50% of the class will fail. So the only solution is to be sincere and follow through; otherwise, you will take extra time to finish your degree.
  • (I have personally seen such people who got their master's degree in 4 years' time; a part-time job is also another reason which causes extension, as in that case you devote fewer hours to your studies). The courses will be highly industry relevant and most of them are practical with a bit of a touch of theory.
  • Positive aspect is the industry relevance so once you finish a course, you are actually proficient with a skill set that will help you in getting a relevant job. And the negative is that a lot of interesting courses were in the German language. So, if you don't know the language, then you will not be able to follow.
  • So you will typically have one or at most two classes in a week for a subject and each session is around 3 hours long.
  • It varies course to course in English language taught courses. the number can be as high as 30 but it depends; you can assume 20-30 persons in a class.
  • It was around 20-30% of total strength.

Fees

  • For me, since I was there for a semester for my thesis, I paid the usual semester contribution, which was around 350 euros back then. This is the same for each semester. this does not include the rent of the accommodation and food. For accommodation you can rent a private flat or even go with a student agency called "Studentenwerk". Usually they offer cheap accommodations.) (for me it was 300 Euros permonth).
  • For me it was around max. 1000 euros per month, including everything excluding the semester contribution.

What are the chances of getting admitted with 3 years Bachelor degree?

A four-year bachelor’s degree is typically required to apply for graduate admission at McGill University. However, the university also somtimes accepts applications from students who have completed a three-year bachelor’s degree on a case-by-case basis. However, meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program, as admission decisions are highly competitive and based on a holistic review of each students’s credentials.
