- Overall reputation and ranking of the university is good

- Huge campus with a lot of facilities like multiple libraries, gym, swimming pool.
Dislikes
- There is nothing I didn't like about my university.
Campus Life
- My university organises a lot of events, both local and international-India-based, like Holi and Diwali. It had multiple big libraries and a number of sports like football, ice hockey, swimming, etc. The university has only one main campus in London, Ontario. Hosts many events like dance events, singing nights, etc.
Accommodation
- The best way is to find a house online on Facebook Marketplace or some other app because agents can sometimes scam you. It is easier if you have some friend or family or some other connection in the city so help you figure out housing and other stuff initially and help you get set in the city. So try to make good connections.

- High fees for international students in Universities

- Not all courses offer campus placements, from my course only 40% students got campus placement
Campus Life
- Western University has a main campus and affiliated colleges—Huron and King College.
- Facilities: libraries and main building reading rooms.
- Sports: Football field, TT courts, ice hockey courts, International club, students club
- Medical Facility: Western University Hospital but need student insurance since medical bills can be huge in case of minor injuries as well.
- Other events are at university level: FOCO event, spokes club meets, and international club social gathering Western is known as a party university with students from well-off backgrounds.
- There are small meetings/events for undergrads regularly happening around campus, which is pretty fun and exciting. Campus has diverse and decent international crowd .
Accommodation
- I stayed off-campus almost 5Km from campus at Wharncliffe Road North. This has pretty old houses with rent around 600-800 per month for a single room.
- Direct bus to Western University and lots of student accommodations in the area.
- Before landing in Canada, I talked to my then-college junior, who had room available in her house. I eventually lived there for 2 months and found better accommodation nearby.
- Most students find something on the Facebook Marketplace/Kijiji app or through friends.
- The lease is usually 1 year with options to transfer the lease or sublease your room incase you decide to move out early. Preferably go with month-to-month lease options.
- As international students, it is best to live with international students, as it is easier to shop for groceries, handle medical emergencies, manage mental health, and cook. While these do not seem like a priority at first, these basic necessities need attention for the long term.
- Please beware of scams, fraud postings and calls. NEVER give money until completely sure about the whereabouts of the place through online video calls/chats/previous tenants.
- Most owners/landlords do not force you to give money as they have plenty of options. Try finding accommodation that offers transit to university.

- Academic Excellence: Western University has a strong reputation for academic excellence, particularly in the field of Computer Science. The university is renowned for its rigorous curriculum, experienced faculty, and emphasis on practical learning, which greatly appealed to me.
- Exceptional Faculty: One of the aspects that stood out to me was the expertise and dedication of the faculty members in the Computer Science department. Their extensive knowledge, research contributions, and passion for teaching were evident during my interactions with them, making me confident that I would receive a high-quality education.
- Research Opportunities: Western University provides numerous research opportunities in Computer Science, which was a crucial aspect for me. The university's commitment to technological advancements and access to cutting-edge resources and facilities would enable me to actively engage in research projects aligned with my interests.
Dislikes
- Limited course availability: Depending on the specific program and field of study, certain courses or specialized electives may have limited availability, which can restrict students' ability to explore specific areas of interest.
- Heavy workload and high expectations: Master's programs at Western University can be rigorous and demanding, requiring a significant commitment of time and effort. The workload may sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when balancing coursework, research, and personal commitments.
- Financial constraints: The cost of tuition and living expenses at Western University can be a barrier for some students. Scholarships and funding opportunities may not always be readily available, making it challenging for individuals to finance their education.

These options provide students with more independence and flexibility. The average rental cost for on-campus accommodation is $600 per month, which includes utilities and other basic expenses. It's important to note that besides accommodation expenses, there may be additional costs for meals, transportation, and personal expenses. On average, students can expect to allocate around $400 per month for these expenditures. However, it's worth considering that these costs may vary depending on personal lifestyle choices and preferences.

- Personally it met a lot of things that I wanted. Location and university criteria wise but also because it was offering a course that intrigued me
- The multi cultural environment and various opportunities available to excel in your interested field. Western and its affiliated colleges provide various courses and programs to choose from.
- Ensure you reserve on them before applying. Overall, the studying and effort comes from an individual, the university only provides a platform to use resources available.
Dislikes
- The fact that distinction between Main Campus and its affiliates is not mentioned explicitly and clearly so ensure to do enough research and apply for the one that suits your need and interest.
- Colleges or universities don't care so social involvement aspect and balance between other responsibilities with study should be cleared before hand and one should learn to balance and prioritize things.
Campus Life
Its well versed. Lot of clubs available to choose from and grow. A lot of campus co curriculum available on Main campus vs the affiliates.
Accommodation
I lived off campus. Not sharing. I paid 600-800 and it has increased now and ranges 700-1000 including add given inflation.
Likes
- Campus infrastructure, diversity of the fields. Some competitions which bring different fields together.
Dislikes
- There are very less number of opportunities for graduate students in terms of clubs, on-campus job. Course with no break
Campus Life
Campus is very rich with various club activities. Some of the clubs provide excellent services such as food bank, exam support, female hygiene, bar and restaurant, career support, and other medical and mental support.
Accommodation
I have made a group from India. I met some person through my consultancy and some from online university meetings. We are living in a 3bedroom house which we rented for 2500 CAD per month for 12 months.
Campus Life
The campus life at IVEY is really commendable and worth learning.Apart from the classroom studies, there are library, online database and other sources of recreational activities. There are clubs also run by the students including dance clubs, theatres, cricket clubs etc.Apart from clubs which lucrates the Indians a lot to be part of the same, there are some more recreational activities such as outdoor events ( sports event etc) and networking events so as to interact and build strong connections with the alumni and other professionals. As such , along with strong academics teaching the students are made to keep themselves engaged through many on and off campus recreational activities at IVEY.
Accommodation
I'm currently in a private residence. Some of my friends live in the dorms - there's no individual accomadation, you'll have to share with 2 or 3 people. There's a shared kitchen. My friends told me there's a very active dorm life with games and constant activities and engagement. Each different dorm has mentors and supervisors. I would like to apply next year to residency.
Accommodation
I lived on campus first year and I stayed in a residence where u shared a room with 1 other person. 3 residences, share a room and have a common washing area, 2 residences, share a room but the washing area is restricted to you and your roommates and the other 2 residences are share a housing complex i.e. a kitchen and living room but have ur own room and bathroom.
I wanted to do their co-op/internship program available after 3rd year.
Accommodation
Yes, I am an on-campus residence. It is closer to classes, the first-year residence all have cafes inside them too. Our meal plan card works in the res cafes on diff Off-campus restaurants as well as restaurants on campus. I was in a sharing (double) room which I found better than a single room as I always had a roommate with me, it was never lonely. The fee for the residence was $8000-$9000
I chose this university because it is well known and reputed in Canada for the course I wanted to study keeping in mind the tuition fee as well
Accommodation
I currently live off campus because it is considerably cheaper. The meal plan at Webster is close to six thousand dollars and mandatory for students who live in residence.
I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do in my life. Originally I wanted to be a dermatologist which would give me the freedom of any undergrad. I was originally accepted to all the universities I applied to for bio or biochem (as I loved bio). I got to thinking and knew bio was not a great degree to have if I didn't get into med school. A friend's relative is an actuary and the more she told me about it as well as when I took grade 12 calculus and fell in love with math I knew it was for me. Western was the only of the 4 schools I applied to where my major wasn't set in stone as well they offered me a 10,000 scholarship.
I opted for this college because it is well known in my area and a fantastic option for my location. My older sibling came here first. My admissions average was 85% in my top 6 university-level grade 12 courses. The admission process was easy and I only applied to western universities and affiliating colleges.
