What Students Say
Likes
- Personally it met a lot of things that I wanted. Location and university criteria wise but also because it was offering a course that intrigued me
- The multi cultural environment and various opportunities available to excel in your interested field. Western and its affiliated colleges provide various courses and programs to choose from.
- Ensure you reserve on them before applying. Overall, the studying and effort comes from an individual, the university only provides a platform to use resources available.
Dislikes
- The fact that distinction between Main Campus and its affiliates is not mentioned explicitly and clearly so ensure to do enough research and apply for the one that suits your need and interest.
- Colleges or universities don't care so social involvement aspect and balance between other responsibilities with study should be cleared before hand and one should learn to balance and prioritize things.
Required Exams for Admission
It was a decent learning experience and I learnt and grew but lot of things could be better but its a learning curve and it's different for everyone.
Course Curriculum
It was relevant but I had to look for exposures outside as I didn't have COOP. Look for university or college with COOP it helps to gain experience and help a lot.
Faculty
They were well versed. Approachable and helpful and can help in issues if one reaches out to them.
Campus Life
Its well versed. Lot of clubs available to choose from and grow. A lot of campus co curriculum available on Main campus vs the affiliates.
Placement
It is available but one needs to work and put efforts and use them for their good. One should be involved enough to keep an eye.
Accommodation
I lived off campus. Not sharing. I paid 600-800 and it has increased now and ranges 700-1000 including add given inflation.
Exams
I went for 2018 Jan intake after my 12th. At the time I didn't take any test except IELTS and scored 7.5 overall and got in. Not sure if requirements changed or increased w.r.t time but ensure to check them on the websites as they are the updated and the source fir the recent requirements. I had to submit SOP and it needed to be clear about my purpose and plan. I personally didn't write mine. My agent did but ensure to consult online resources and be honest to make a strong case as to why you are interested and what qualifies you to be chosen and how you can impact the economy if given a chance.
Fees
It changes but first year $50000 then 4th year 32000 and all the years were between this. This has changed now but its for 8 months 2 semester.
Scholarship
I received scholarships for $1500-$2000 for my marks in 12th that was added towards my fees for all 4 years.
