What Students Say
Likes
- I like how they have vast number of programs including the thesis based. Department of Immunology and medical genetics are very challenging for someone without any research experience but I really appreciate for the people who can understand your status and train based on your needs.
Dislikes
- There are few supervisors who are very rude and toxic so it all depends on whom you select and how you maintain a healthy relationship with your supervisor. There are plenty of workshops to increase your skills, maintaining stress, balancing work and life and so on for our mental health.
Course Curriculum
- It’s very good. Again, you have lots of electives to select and some mandatory courses.
Admission Experience
- I chose this university Mainly because of their programmes and very qualified supervisors who have plenty of experience in their expertise.
- IELTS was 6.5 around 2023. I’m not sure. You can check the university website.
Faculty
- It’s pretty good. 1:5.
Campus Life
- It’s good. Everyone will be friendly. You can easily find people to navigate for something. There are plenty of events happening all over the year.
Placement
- Winnipeg is not the best option, especially if you are someone in the field. But you can always find some in the university itself or in the start-ups.
Accommodation
- Facebook marketplace and for a month, I pay around $650 for a private room in a 2-bedroom apartment.
Exams
- For a thesis-based programme, you need to approach a supervisor and successfully get offered a position. Then you can follow the same steps as usual to apply here.
Fees
- For the first year, you need to pay $7500 for the first 2 semesters, and you will get $7500 as an entrance scholarship if you have more than 8.5 gpa. After the first 2 semester, you need to pay $2000 every fall and winter and $700 for the summer until you stay in the program.
