Some things about Sheridan College

I applied to two colleges; one was Sheridan College Davis campus, which is located in Brampton, Ontario. Canada, and the other world, was Humber College. The status for Sheridan College was admitted while I faced the rejection at Humber College. The reason behind my rejection was that I was lacking marks in Mathematics from the admission requirements. So for that programme at Humber College I needed to secure more marks but the admission requirement was 70 at that time for grade 12. But it was for a different programme; it was for biotechnology. My parents wanted me to live near the Brampton city and Davis campus of Sheridan College is located in Brampton. So the housing place also determined the college I was selecting to get admitted to. Entire process was done by IDP education, from application to visa processing. Eligibility criteria included a minimum of 6 bands in the IELTS exam. They do accept PTE too. It was an amazing experience to get admitted to Sheridan College with unforgettable memories and a lot of new skills were learnt. The only challenge was that the environment didn’t suit me, as it was very cold in winters with freezing temperatures outside. But Sheridan is not just a college; it is now an emotion for me. It is the best college with great faculty and the best curriculum for hands-on experience. I applied to the January intake. It was the closest intake with possible seats and availability. It took 2 months for the admission process. It started in April and by the end of June, I had my admission letter with me. But now the process is slower due to changes made by IRCC. I have applied to 2 colleges, including Seneca and Sheridan. First I got approval from Seneca after 28 days or so; I got approval from Sheridan college. I just applied to 2 colleges and I got approval from both of them. I did not try to apply to any other colleges because I was looking to do either a diploma or Advanced diploma. In other colleges there were not many openings for the May intake. The reason I chose Sheridan over Seneca is that Sheridan was closer to one of my relative's houses compared to Seneca. In Sheridan, first I applied with the required documents, and in Sheridan, usually they take 28 to 30 days to process your application; luckily, I got an approval within 12 days. Sheridan was accepting an overall 6 band and no less than a 5.5 band in any criteria for IELTS. Overall, the admission process was amazing; I did not have to juggle too much for admission. I applied for the summer intake in 2024 in the Advanced Diploma program of Computer Engineering Technology. In my case, I applied for Sheridan around the end of September 2023, and then after 30 , 12 days, I got an approval. I applied to over 12 different colleges and Universities and I got conditional offer letters from 9 out of 12. I got confirmed admission from Lakehead University, Brock University, Conestoga College and Sheridan College I got rejection from Seneca Polytechnic and Ryerson University (currently renamed to Toronto Metropolitan University) because of my IELTS score. In my opinion, the main reason was my IELTS score, which was 6.5 overall and also because I have done a diploma in computer engineering from India (I did not pursue 11th and 12th grades). Other than that, my actual profile was pretty good, with my overall grades at 89%. I choose sheridan college because the courses they provided made more sense on paper. There were a good amount of advanced and intermediate-level courses in 2nd 3rd and 4th years of this course and I chose this option especially because there were many professional electives and courses on mobile development and I was very passionate about it at that time. You apply, you get a conditional offer letter (if your current education is still ongoing), you keep updating your latest marksheet on the student admission portal and eventually, if you are lucky and you did everything, you will get a final offer letter. Minimum Requirements : 6.5 IELTS with no less than 6.0 in each module. Overall Minimum 70% percent in your current education. The admission process was normal and I did not face any challenges I originally applied for the September 2020 intake, but due to COVID-19, I wasn’t able to complete the admission process. My previous educational institution was delayed in providing my final semester diploma marksheet and other required documents, so I deferred and opted for the January 2021 intake instead. I choose this college because it is in Brampton and it is the closest to where I planned to live. The courses are easy and the diploma is easy to pass. The classes can be adjusted to 2 days a week and a 3-year work permit is also given after completing the diploma....Read More

I went to the Sheridan Hazel Mccallion campus in Mississauga. I was enrolled in the business administration-Human Resources program which was a two-year diploma program. During my time at Sheridan, I was guided by the career center for any career-related interests and resumes. There’s an international center that assured students of any concerns that international students may have. There are several groups where you can volunteer to gain some experience in event management, social work, and many other communities. It is a small campus but very accessible. I personally loved studying at the campus. There were study rooms and individual spaces to study. I spent most of my time at school during my time at Sheridan. When you are at Sheridan, all you have to do is to ask or reach out to those available resources and they will provide you guidance and make your life much easier. It was located in the city where I wanted to be and the college had good reviews and was known for business programs.
