What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the smaller class sizes opposed to the University of Manitoba. That’s the main thing that made my university appealing and it truly lead to a much better overall experience
- I loved the small class sizes and how you can personally get to know your classmates, professors, TAs and lab instructors. It’s a great community to be apart of and you really hold lifelong relationships!
Dislikes
- Because we are in downtown, the safety can be a concern especially for late night classes. However, there are measures in place to assist students when they need. Such as, having someone to walk to and from your car, bus stop, or even your home (within a certain radius)
I loved the experience. I had so many classmates from year 1 on to year 4 that were in the same classes as I was. I built wonderful relationships with my professors and lab instructors that are life long.
Course Curriculum
I loved the courses. Syllabi were always accurate. I took two research courses and built great relationships with my professors. I ended up doing extra research on the side because of this! And this is what helped me get my job.
Faculty
The faculty is AMAZING. It’s evenly distributed between faculty and students. Very approachable and wonderful faculty in the science department. Dr. Goltz & Dr. Holloway definitely made the biggest impact in my life. They’re the most amazing people there and so easy to talk to, joke around with, get advice from and learn from.
Campus Life
I love the new clubs and extracurriculars! There is a lot surrounding Indian people now to make you feel more welcome.
Placement
They’re great! I started work right after university and I am being paid $52,000 yearly. It was very easy to get a job after, especially with the research experience I gained and with my connections to my professors.
Accommodation
I did not use accommodation but know some who did. You can do shared rooms or single rooms.
Exams
I did not have to do this as I am local to Canada and did not need any of these credentials. Only 70% and up in highschool classes (I was 90% and up, though).
Fees
$4000/year (but again, I am local to Winnipeg)
Scholarship
The only scholarship I got was an entry scholarship through a business competition, open only to highschool students in Winnipeg.
