- PR, Marketing and Strategic Communications by PACE (Professional, Applied and Continuing Education (PACE) programs) at University of Winnipeg is a hands-on course taught by active industry professionals. The curriculum and assignments are tasks we perform at work in Industry. Located in Winnipeg, the capitol of Manitoba makes it a very affordable living option in Canada.
Dislikes
- The University is a bit under rated and now overcrowded with international students. Some courses hardly have any Canadian students removing the Canadian perspective all international students look forward for.
Required Exams for Admission
As an international student returning to academics, PACE helped me gain North American, or to be precise Canadian, industry insights. If I consider my past experience as a cake, PACE is the icing that I needed to prepare myself for the Canadian job market.
Course Curriculum
The syllabus is very relevant to Canadian market and industry in specific. Instructors are active industry professionals. An Un paid Co-op in industry is part of course and company options to apply facilitated.
Faculty
The best in the province. very well versed with Canadian job market and industry trends.
Campus Life
Its a campus in downtown Winnipeg. best Library on and off line, Cultural activities and inclusive atmosphere.
Placement
Canada doesn't offer campus placements like India how ever PACE grads are well recognized in the industry. I got a job in the same company I did my co-op with. Most of tech job positions available are good with Canadian job NOC codes that help you with Canadian PR and work permits.
Accommodation
I chose University residence facility available at extra costs. Student friends flats are available near campus.
Exams
Experience in Journalism, PR or Marketing industry is preferred. I have about 8 years of experience before I applied for this course. Other requirement include an Academic IELTS with minimum writing score of 6.5. Statement of Purpose, CV required along with IELTS to apply for course on UoW PACE admissions portal.
Fees
20,000 CAD for 13 months course.
