SCU evaluates Indian qualifications using NOOSR and UK NARIC equivalency frameworks. The academic floor differs by level. The English requirement varies by program and is verified separately through one of five accepted tests.

• UG general entry (recommended): Class XII at 65% or higher from CBSE, ICSE, or a recognised state board.
• UG nursing or health sciences (recommended): Class XII at 70% plus prerequisite Biology or Chemistry.
• PG coursework entry (recommended): Three-year or four-year Bachelor’s at 50 to 55% (subject-specific minimums apply).

SCU does not publish a blanket Medium of Instruction waiver for Indian applicants. If you fall short of the IELTS or PTE minimum, SCU College offers an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program plus an Undergraduate Qualifying Program. Completing the EAP or pathway program satisfies the English requirement without the need to resit a standardised test. All test scores must be from the past two years.

Insider note: Indian applicants holding a three-year Bachelor’s from a UGC-recognised institution are accepted into most SCU Master’s programs without bridging — a notable contrast to many UK universities that still want a four-year degree.

Southern Cross University Postgraduate Programs for Indian Students

Postgraduate coursework at SCU covers business, IT, health, education, hotel management, and engineering. Most Master’s degrees are 1.5 to 2 years full-time and use the multi-term calendar (start in March, July, August, or October). 

Bachelor’s degrees at SCU run 3 years for most disciplines and 4 years for engineering and clinical health pathways. Indian applicants enter directly with Class XII results — no Foundation year is mandatory unless your overall percentage falls short of the entry band. 

SCU’s MBA is delivered through the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts across the Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Gold Coast campuses. The course is 2 years full-time across multiple terms, and admissions are rolling — there are no fixed rounds. The university does not require GMAT or GRE for Indian applicants.

Southern Cross University MBA Entry Requirements

A 3-year Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution. For Indian students, a 50–55% aggregate typically meets the minimum in most cases (as per general PG guidance). Applicants without a Bachelor’s may still be considered through a Graduate Certificate to MBA articulation pathway, gated on substantial managerial experience. There is no group discussion or in-person interview stage; an applicant statement is reviewed at the file level.

SCU runs a fully online application through the StudyLink portal. The end-to-end process from filing to enrolment usually takes 8 to 12 weeks. Plan to apply at least three months before your intended term starts to allow for offer review, fee payment, Confirmation of Enrolment, and visa lodgment.

Document preparation is the longest part of the timeline for most Indian applicants. Bring originals when you arrive in Australia — the university can request physical verification later. • Passport bio page — valid for at least the duration of your course plus 6 months.
• Certified copies of academic transcripts — Class X, Class XII, and Bachelor’s marksheets with the grading system explained.
• Certified degree certificate — provisional certificate is accepted for very recent graduates.
• English test score report — IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, Cambridge CAE, or OET, dated within 2 years.
• Statement of Purpose (SOP) — 500 to 800 words on academic background, program fit, and post-study plan.
• Letters of recommendation — academic or employer references, typically one to two letters for PG.
• Updated CV — mandatory for MBA and PG coursework applicants.
• Work-experience letters — for MBA and PhD applicants, on company letterhead.
