Deakin University at GIFT City Campus Opens Admission for 2024

Deakin University’s new campus is located in the heart of the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). It is the first university in the world to open an international branch campus in India. The GIFT City campus is currently under construction and is set to initiate teaching and industry engagement in January 2024. Deakin will celebrate its 50th anniversary and 30 years of establishing operations in India on the same year. 

As announced at the ‘Arambh (The Beginning): Australian University Campuses in India’ program at Gift City, this campus will focus on bridging and building capacities in business and technology in postgraduate level. Prospective students must hold an Indian citizenship to apply for admission at Deakin University GIFT City Campus. 

Deakin is ranked among the top 1% of universities in the world. The university is initially offering 2 postgraduate courses in this campus, Master of Business Analytics, and Master of Cyber Security (Professional). Students will receive the same standard of higher education in the 25,000 sq.ft. GIFT City campus as in Australia.

• Concentrating on the needs of India’s digital economy, the university will be currently providing the Master of Cybersecurity (Professional) and Master of Business Analytics courses.
• The courses in GIFT City campus will be accredited in Australia by international agencies, like ACS, AACSB, EQUIS and QS.
• Teaching and on-campus academic standards at GIFT City campus will align to the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards, Australia (TEQSA).
• Each course incorporates internship work experience.

Master in Business Analytics

The Master in Business Analytics program includes assignments, and extensive industry practice, contemporary and relevant content with strong industry consultation. Completion of the program grants eligibility for entry as a Professional member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Master of Cyber Security (Professional) 

The Master of Cyber Security (Professional) research program concentrates on developing innovative cyber security technologies. This program focuses on high-assurance cyber defence, detection, mitigation, and response to enable cyber resilience at speed and scale.

Both the Master of Business Analytics and Master of Cyber Security (Professional) programs are 1.5 years, full-time courses, accredited by Australian Computer Society. Entry requirements include Indian citizenship, bachelor's degree in a relevalt discipline, two years of relevant work experience, satisfactory English proficiency requirements, and successful attending of an interview as part of the selection process.

The approximate tuition fees for the proposed programs is 19,000 AUD, equivalent to 10 lakh INR per annum. The estimated cost of living for students will be around 2.5 lakh per annum.
