Dr. Agyeya Trippathi is a certified Social Auditor (SAN-UK & India), Sustainability Expert, and Qualified Research Professional instrumental in end-to-end strategy management for organizations aligning with global sustainable standards. He has more than 15 years of experience working in India, Africa, and Asia Pacific countries in development projects funded by SDC, UNCDF, UNDP, IFC, and the World Bank. A large part of his professional engagement was with Government, Donors, INGOs, and Private organizations working towards achieving sustainability and inclusivity outcomes. He had handled multi-country and multi-disciplinary team sizes ranging from 5 to 25 including field teams, managers, and researchers.

Being a professor, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
As a visiting professor at ISAB, my primary role is to bring in my expertise and knowledge to enrich the subjects I teach. In addition to teaching, I am also actively involved in mentoring students, guiding them in their planning, research, and studies. By providing support and guidance, I strive to contribute to their academic and personal growth during their time at ISAB. I provide them with all the necessary skills that are required for their growth and success. As a professor, I aim to provide all the support and assistance that will guide them in the future.
What are the factors that make the program you teach the best for the students to opt for?
The program I teach offers students a competitive edge through industry experience, real-life cases, and the incorporation of the latest global and regional updates. The high demand from recruiters further enhances its appeal, providing excellent career prospects for graduates. The program I teach will make the students face real-life challenges and will help them to practically deal with all the situations they will encounter in the world outside.
How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?
The program is meticulously designed to equip agri-graduates for managerial roles in agribusiness. Recognizing the industry’s need for business management skills, it provides students with relevant knowledge. ISAB facilitates international knowledge exchange, industry connections, exposure visits, and webinars led by industry experts. Providing all these facilities to the students ensures that they are prepared for the future in the right way.

To assist students in navigating intense competition, I employ innovative methods that blend technical and management skills. By emphasizing problem-solving abilities, decision-making skills, I equip students to face challenges effectively with courage and strength. Moreover, I foster a focus on social and environmental causes, instilling a sense of purpose and ethical responsibility, preparing them to excel in the dynamic external environment.
When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?
When I joined the college, my vision was to bridge the gap between industry and academia, and create a sense of responsibility towards farmers, agriculture, and national growth. I strive to achieve this vision by incorporating current issues faced by the sector into the curriculum, fostering innovation, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills, and encouraging students to actively contribute to the betterment of the agriculture sector.
What are the practices provided by the department to the students for assisting them in gaining essential and necessary skills?
The department offers a range of practices to support students in acquiring crucial skills. These practices encompass hands-on practical sessions, industry collaborations, internships, workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs. These initiatives are designed to foster the development of technical expertise, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and overall professional growth among students.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?
My recommendation to students would be to follow their passions, regularly enhance their knowledge and skills, view challenges as chances for personal growth, establish connections and cultivate relationships, seek guidance from mentors, and uphold a strong work ethic. Furthermore, being adaptable, resilient, and committed to lifelong learning will significantly contribute to a successful career in the future.
