- The Studio Art program prepares students by developing strong visual skills, keen critical reasoning, and an understanding of broad historical and social themes.
- At the undergraduate level students are encourage the freedom necessary for creativity by offering flexible programs, a wide-open working environment, and a committed faculty that represents a diverse set of artistic backgrounds.
- The program focuses on inspiration and passion for visual art while strengthening the technical and craft-based elements of creating work. Instructors will help students cross the line between learning to be an artist and becoming one.
- Students will explore traditional and emerging mediums through a curriculum well-defined in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking or sculpture, video art, or digital work.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have a minimum of 120 credits and at least 90 credits in the liberal arts and sciences
- Students must achieve and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- The students should have completed the General Education Program at the University at Albany
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.
Indian Students Eligibility:
- Students should submit required official and complete individual mark skeets for each examination attempt, including subsidiary exams.
- Photocopies of student's mark sheets are accepted only when they are attested by the University Registrar or Controller of Examinations and placed in a sealed, stamped envelope that is sent directly to the Graduate School.
