The mission of the University of New Haven’s Law Programs is to educate students to understand the role and function of law in our society, to understand and apply fundamental principles of law through a hands-on learning approach, and to apply critical thinking, ethical conduct, and respect for others and the rule of law in a global society.
Students will understand the structure and functions of the American legal system, including governmental structure, the court system, and alternative methods of dispute resolution, and recognize the role of law and democratic principles in our society. Students will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
