- Library is very useful, has so many books and peaceful too. We also get free softwares which help in studies. The computer labs are also available if you don’t have your own setup.
- Campus is really clean and green. I feel relaxed walking around. It’s not too crowded or noisy so it helps me focus on my classes and assignments. Also feels very safe.
- There are many student jobs inside the campus like in dining, library or offices. It helped me earn and learn at the same time. I got one in my late first semester.
Dislikes
- Very stressful. Courses get full fast and you have to keep checking. Sometimes you miss good subjects.
- Housing and financial aid take time to reply. Not good when you need something quickly.
- Most food places close early. Not helpful if you have late classes or work.
Campus Life
-
The University of South Florida has three main campuses:
- Tampa (main campus)
- St. Petersburg
- Sarasota-Manatee
- The Tampa campus is the largest and has all major facilities like a library, gym and sports complex, student center, health center, and cafeterias.
- There are many student clubs and organizations based on interests like culture, technology, music, dance, entrepreneurship, and volunteering. USF also has sports teams and offers facilities for football, basketball, swimming, and tennis.
- Popular events and fests include USF Week, Bullstock, Homecoming, and International Festival. These include concerts, food events, games, and performances.
- Students can join cultural clubs, coding groups, sports teams, or student government. There’s something for everyone, and joining these helps with networking, fun, and skill-building outside the classroom.
Accommodation
- I stayed off-campus. I found the place through WhatsApp and Facebook groups. Rent was around $600 per month. It had internet, water and trash included, but electricity was extra.
- It was hard to finalize from India without seeing it. I suggest students search early and try to find roommates. My place was 5 mins from campus. Many Indians live in Campus Club, 42 North, ON50, and Lakeview, Cambridge, near Tampa, USF student communities.

- I like everything about the university. The infrastructure, academics is good. I also like the transportation.
Campus Life
I have attended a couple of events which were hosted by different clubs. It's fun. You can interact with different people from different countries. You can participate in the events as well.
Accommodation
I have lived in a shared apartment- 2b2b. The rent was 1900 USD per month and other utilities like electricity, wifi will cost around 160 USD per month. (THIS IS THE TOTAL COST, NOT INDIVIDUAL)

- My work and research focus areas involve Cyber-Physical Systems, ML and Cyber-Security, and the CS program is structured with respect to focus mainly on these 3 areas, also I was recommend by my Principal, CSE at Amrita under whom I did my final year project to go with this university.
- The best part of the my university if the student life, It is much more relaxed out here at the same time provides great opportunities and exposure towards the industry (for my specific program), also the campus is very diverse with respect to culture and ethnicity with allows me to interact and network with a wider community
Dislikes
- The college is pretty large spanning around 1500 acres, although the college offers free shuttle buses across 10 different routes for students, there is still a lot of walking around involved when commuting and it is very easy to get lost in a sea of students coming in (over 41,000 every year)
Campus Life
Apart from the lengthy commute, the campus life is one of the best things here, from regularly hosted events, extracurricular activities and parties from nearly 1000+ clubs in the campus to best in class facilities like the massive Library which hosts a plethora of books and digital content accessible from anywhere. WiFi is available for free to the students with great speeds, there is a wide array of sports facilities from gyms (which is free for the students) to giant pitches for American Football, baseball, athletics etc. The main highlight are the research facilities at USF, with a budget of nearly 2.5 billion dollars, nearly 40% of the amount is used to upkeep the research facilities with state of the art labs and systems.
Accommodation
The in-campus housing is very expensive and considering the space we live in for that amount, it isn't worth that amount of money, I strongly advise anyone coming here find accommodation off-campus (except for undergraduate freshman for whom it is mandatory to stay in campus for the 1st year). With respect to the off-campus housing we have rentals ranging from 300$ for a 3 Sharing per room 2BHK to 800$ for individual rooms.

- Research and lab facility is good comparative to other universities I got admission in.
- The research in this college is too good. The professors will guide you in the topics and also share the book to be read by us. The infrastructure is awesome. The lab facility in every department is commendable with every single device required for research.
Dislikes
- Mostly every thing is good apart from the too hot weather of Tampa. The temperatures are less compared to India but the skin burns with the high UV in the sunlight. It's somewhat hard to find the buildings which we need to attend the class
Campus Life
Infrastructure is super good with world class library of six floors and filled with books for 4 floors.
Accommodation
We have to search for accommodation pre-arrival itself. So that we are good with the arrival.
Campus Life
The campus life was very good. I have many beautiful memories of the campus. We have been provided all the research facilities. There were so many clubs and societies related to different activities. We has a group of more than 10 friends and there were more than 1000 fellow countrymen in the university.
Accommodation
I stayed with the university students in a shared apartment off-campus. My apartment was 2 km far from the university and university transport facilities are very good and frequent without any payment. The apartment was furnished. I selected the apartment based on the distance from the university, the availability of grocery stores nearby and the facilities available in the apartment.
I chose the University Of South Florida for its excellence in academics and stem programs and because the campus is beautiful. I chose USF based on the STEM fair that my school took us back in 7th and 8th grade and I just fell in love with the school as a whole.
I opted for this particular college because they have a very good education program. Graduates from the University of South Florida have a 99% chance of obtaining a job right out of college. I found this very appealing.
Tuition was affordable and the school was near my home. The school is clean and the people are friendly. There?s good transportation systems on campus as well as many programs to help students get used to living.
