  • I had a few friends and relatives living around so they helped me sort out my accommodation part. I personally didn’t face challenges because they took care of that. But here people find from Facebook Marketplace and online platforms too.
  • They get it from apartments.com or zillow.com to search for houses. But the authenticity of that house needs to be checked. You cannot trust anyone online.

  • The difficulty level of my course curriculum was pretty decent. It was a mix of both theoretical and practical.
  • The most positive aspects of my course was the decent amount of workload that is easily manageable and allows you to do a lot more during your program. The most negative aspect of my course was the lack of technical knowledge that I was hoping to get through my course.
  • The average number of students in my class was 20-25 at a time. There were around 15-20 indian students in my class.

Fees

  • $45,000 was the tuition fees, living expenses was around $10-$15k for the 1.5 years duration of my course.
  • Fees are due semester wise and you also have the option to enrol in a payment plan that allows you to pay fees for each semester in a monthly instalment.
  • The monthly cost of living in San Francisco on a student budget would be around $1250-$1500.

Both industrial exposure and research experience was given but since the program is of 11 months, each course has to be completed within 7 weeks which is a short time. It's fast paced and a lot of knowledge has to be gained by yourself.

Some professors teach very well, while other courses seem outdated and not practical at all. I haven't done an internship yet and classes have not helped with it so far.

Fees

The tuition is $50000 and they have different levels of academic scholarships depending on your GPA and essay. I have been awarded the presidential scholarship which gives me $10000 per year and it was based on a GPA above 3.5. I have heard that there may be full scholarships given out but those would require at least a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a stellar test score. I believe scholarships may be available for international applicants but I would not be sure of that.

I opted for USF because it had the direct-entry nursing program that I had been aiming for as well as being one of the tops in the nation. There are only a few direct-entry nursing programs in California so USF was a top choice for me. As a low-income student, I was able to apply to a majority of my colleges without fees and USF had already given me an application fee exemption due to my GPA and test scores. In the end, I chose USF from other schools like UC Santa Barbara and Azusa Pacific University because I felt that USF provided me the best of everything and provided me with enough financial assistance to be able to afford the education.

The classes are pretty small. In the first year, there were about 20 students to 1 faculty member. As I progressed to more advanced courses, I would say the ratio is 10-15 students to 1 faculty. The teaching methodology varies between professors but you have to study a lot for all of them.

Fees

Tuition for being a full-time student for a year is about $50,000. The housing cost around $11,000. The dining cost around $5,000. Due to some circumstances that I don't want to talk about, I am not getting any scholarships. My mentor is paying for all my costs because he believes in me and wants me to succeed.
