The study of Art History examines specific works of sculpture, painting, architecture, and other art forms, both as expressions of human creativity and as uniquely informative historical documents. Through such investigations students gain a greater aesthetic appreciation of art and a deeper understanding of its purposes in different times and places.

Individuals working towards a degree in Art History investigate the achievements of artists and architects. Students analyze and evaluate many forms of artistic expression such as paintings, sculpture, architecture, music and cinematography.
The School of Art's extensive visiting artists program exposes students to a wide range of contemporary artists in all disciplines.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Must have graduated from secondary school
- Submit all the unofficial transcripts of previous school attended
- SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English language proficiency scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT; 8.5 in Essentials
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 105
