Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Converged Broadcast Media at the University of North Texas will prepare you for a career in television, radio and Internet-based news operations at the local, national and international levels. Other career fields include:

  • Long-form broadcast storytelling, such as a news magazine show
  • Multichannel television
  • Digital converged media production
  • Creative services and marketing
  • Corporate media
  • Audience research
  • Documentary programming

In the Converged Broadcast Media program, you’ll receive a comprehensive education in media convergence, radio, television and their social media and Internet components. In addition, you’ll learn about live TV news broadcasting, live on-location production, and sports, entertainment and political event coverage.
The course work examines a wide range of subjects, such as:

  • Electronic news management
  • Interviewing and performance
  • News media analysis
  • Shooting and editing for television
  • Writing and reporting for radio, television and the Internet

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

International Student Eligibility:

  • Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education.
  • Official transcripts/diplomas (in the native language and English) showing all courses and marks of the final three years of secondary school.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Minimum of three years and graduated from an accredited high school in the U.S.
  • Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores

Language Requirements:

This university accepts any one of the measures as proof of English language proficiency.

  1. Complete Level 6 at UNT's Intensive English Language Institute (IELI).The Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) at the University of North Texas helps international students develop academic skills in English.

  2. Complete a Qualifying Academic Program where the official language is English.

  3. Achieve a Qualifying Score on an English Language Proficiency Test Accepted by UNT. Some of the tests accepted by this university are IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, ACT,.. etc.

  4. Complete Qualifying Courses, Degrees or Diplomas like IB (International Baccalaureate) where Grade 5 or above on the Higher-Level English A1 subject, College Level English courses, Earned college working hours of 30 with a GPA of 2.25 in any accredited US college or any college in English speaking countries.
