What Students Say
Likes
- The location of the university is a major advantage. It is located in the heart of silicon valley. It gives better exposure to the students.
- People studying here are very helpful. One can easily reach out to them for any help.
- Faculty here are very welcoming. They make us feel comfortable during the class, so that we can even ask questions without any hesitation. They are very accessible.
Course Curriculum
- Instructors update their teaching style and syllabus according to the needs of industry.
- The labs that we do are very much relevant to the current technology and help us to get a better understanding.
- As an International student one should enrol in 9 units per semester (3 courses). The classes are typically in the evenings for the electrical department
Admission Experience
- During my bachelor's in India, I developed a passion for electronics. This is the main reason behind choosing Electrical Engineering in my master's. I chose this university considering its location and the extraordinary faculty. I will be graduating in May 2026. Looking forward to a better opportunity in the industry. My experience with the university is good so far.
- There were no particular requirements posted in terms of the minimum score for GRE. But the minimum score required for IELTS is 6.5 similar to that of many universities. With regard to my scores, I scored 320 in GRE and 7.5 in IELTS. We also need to submit the WES evaluation for the admission.
Faculty
- I am not sure about the student-faculty ratio. Please refer to the website for all info related to the faculty.
Campus Life
- There is an organisation for Indian students that is recognised by the university. We celebrate all the Indian festivals. They also conduct workshops for resume building and to grow our network.
Part Time Jobs
- For any on-campus opportunity, students get paid a minimum of $17.95. The best way to apply for on-campus opportunities is through Handshake, getting referrals from the people who already worked in that position. As a student, one can work up to 20 hours per week during the semester and during vacation, one can work up to 40 hours per week.
- With a higher volume of students, it is competitive to get an on-campus opportunity. TA specifically is the best thing that can happen to a student because TAs get a monthly stipend and around $3500 is reimbursed from the tuition fee paid. RA positions are considered as hourly student employees.
Placement
- 75% of the students are employed within 6 months
- 90k to 120k USD
- Building your own network is the key to finding jobs in the US no matter which university you graduate from. Also, there are job fairs on campus.
Accommodation
- There are many whatsapp groups using which one can connect with the newly admitted students and one will be able to understand everything once the process starts. It will be very overwhelming if I describe everything now.
Exams
- GRE, IELTS
- Statement of Purpose, LOR, and CV along with the WES evaluation.
- We need to submit the financial documents during the application itself. If a student is admitted, they will receive the I-20 along with the admission letter. This reduces the tedious process of obtaining the I-20 after accepting the admission.
Fees
- Tuition fees are $31,000 and Insurance for the entire duration would be around $4000 living expenses would be $900 per month
