Overall, I loved it. Boulder is a nice little town located in the middle of the mountains. the views are stunning everywhere you go. The life is slow but peaceful. It is mostly a white dominated communicated but the people are nice. Academically there a lot of opportunities for you and various different dreams available. The job market in Denver is also thriving.

Course Curriculum

8

Yes. My department provided me with a lot of exposure. they always bought in guest speakers who talked about their fields.

Faculty

10

Justin Gitlin was one of my favorite professors. He used to work for Nike and had a really impressive resume and was just a really cool person overall.

Campus Life

9

Campus life is really good. We really have one of the best rec centers. Our swim team, cycling team and rock climbing team is one of the best in the country. Infrastructure and campus life is beautiful overall.

Placement

8

Decent - My department had a decent placement rate. Some of the other departments such as CS and DS had a much higher placement rate. However there are a lot of research opportunities for PHD students on campus.

Accommodation

Off Campus
7

For grad students they have Family housing which is pretty affordable and cheap and close to campus. We have all kinds of rooms available 1bhk, 2bhk, 3bhk. Off campus accommodation is more expensive.

Exams

GRE Verbal: 155 -GRE Quant-160 . IELTS and TOEFL were not applicable to me. But UCB has a fairly decent acceptance rate. Yes, I had to submit SOP, LOR and CVS . I did send out a mail to some of the professors in advance asking them if there were any TA positions available. Doing this always helps. I did not have any interviews personally. But some of my friends did and based on the feedback that I received I learnt that it is always good to have a firm knowledge of the field that you are applying in. Also it is important to be confident and conduct yourself gracefully.

Fees

$14k per semester

Scholarship

I got a scholarship from my own department: $3000. Other than that I did not get anything.
