Ques. What is the difference between B.Pharma (Lateral Entry) and the regular 4-year B.Pharma program?
Ans. The B.Pharma (Lateral Entry) is a 3-year program designed specifically for D.Pharm graduates who enter directly into the second year of the pharmacy curriculum. The regular 4-year B.Pharma program is for 10+2 science students and covers the complete pharmacy curriculum from the first year. The lateral entry program allows D.Pharm graduates to skip the first year and focus on advanced pharmaceutical sciences, saving one year of study while gaining a bachelor's degree.
Ques. What are the eligibility requirements for B.Pharma Lateral Entry admission?
Ans. Candidates must have successfully completed a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the D.Pharm course is required for general category candidates, while reserved category candidates need 45% aggregate. The D.Pharm diploma should be from an institution recognized by the state pharmacy council or PCI.
