TSU B.Com FAQs
Ques. Does this B.Com (F&A) programme at TSU guarantee CA coaching, or is it just a regular B.Com with a different name?
Ans. This is a genuinely integrated programme - not just a regular B.Com with a rebranded name. The curriculum is specifically designed to be ICAI-aligned, meaning the subjects covered (accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate law, financial reporting) directly overlap with CA Foundation and CA Intermediate syllabi. The university provides structured CA coaching sessions led by CA-qualified faculty, real-world case studies, and articleship support. However, students must separately register with ICAI for CA Foundation and appear for ICAI exams independently - the university's role is to prepare and support them, not to conduct ICAI exams.
Ques. When should a student register for CA Foundation with ICAI if they are joining this programme?
Ans. Students should ideally register for CA Foundation with ICAI as soon as they complete their Class 12 exams, even before joining the B.Com programme. ICAI allows students to register for CA Foundation after passing Class 10, but the Foundation exam can only be attempted after passing Class 12. For the May 2026 CA Foundation exam session, registration was open from March 3 to March 16, 2026. Students joining the 2026 batch should target the November 2026 or May 2027 CA Foundation exam session. Always check the latest registration deadlines on the official ICAI website (icai.org).
Ques. What is the difference in fees between B.Com (General) and B.Com (F&A) Integrated with CA Preparation at TSU?
Ans. The B.Com (General) costs ₹35,000 per semester (₹2,10,000 total), while the B.Com (F&A) Integrated with CA Preparation costs ₹50,000 per semester (₹3,00,000 total) - a difference of ₹90,000 over 3 years. This additional cost covers the integrated CA coaching, ICAI-aligned curriculum, expert CA faculty sessions, and articleship support. Additionally, students must separately pay ICAI registration fees for CA Foundation (approximately ₹9,800) and CA Intermediate (approximately ₹18,000) directly to ICAI, which are not included in the college fees.
Ques. Can students who are not from a Commerce background in Class 12 apply for this programme?
Ans. The official eligibility states a minimum of 50% in Class 12 or equivalent, with a preference for students who have studied Commerce, Mathematics, or related subjects. While students from Science or Arts backgrounds can technically apply, this programme is heavily focused on accounting, finance, and CA preparation - areas that require a strong foundation in commerce and mathematics. Students from non-commerce backgrounds are advised to carefully assess their interest and aptitude for accounting and finance before enrolling, as the curriculum is intensive and CA-oriented from the first semester itself.
Ques. What articleship support does TSU provide for CA students in this programme?
Ans. TransStadia University provides assistance in securing CA articleship placements through its network of industry partners, accounting firms, and corporate connections. Articleship is a mandatory 3-year practical training requirement under ICAI for CA Intermediate and Final students. The university's placement cell and faculty network help connect students with Chartered Accountant firms and finance departments of companies for articleship opportunities. However, the final articleship agreement is between the student and the CA firm/company, as per ICAI regulations.
Ques. What career options are available after completing this B.Com (F&A) with CA Preparation programme?
Ans. Graduates of this programme have multiple career pathways. If they clear CA exams, they can work as Chartered Accountants in audit firms, corporate finance departments, taxation consultancies, or set up independent practice. Even without completing CA, the B.Com (F&A) degree opens doors to roles such as financial analyst, tax consultant, accounts manager, banking officer, investment analyst, and finance executive. The programme also provides a strong foundation for pursuing CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or MBA in Finance for those seeking global career opportunities.
