RRBMU LLM FAQs
Ques. What subjects are covered in the LLM programme at RRBMU?
Ans. The 2-year LLM programme at RRBMU covers advanced constitutional law, administrative law, international law, comparative law, jurisprudence and legal philosophy, legal research methodology, and specialised optional papers. Students undertake an independent research dissertation in the second year, developing advanced skills in legal analysis and academic writing. The programme prepares graduates for careers in legal academia, policy research, advocacy at higher courts, and government legal advisory positions.
Ques. What is the eligibility for the LLM programme at RRBMU?
Ans. Candidates must hold a 3-year LLB degree or a 5-year integrated LLB degree from any recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 45% in the LLB programme. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories receive a 5% relaxation, making them eligible with 40% aggregate in LLB. Admission is primarily based on LLB merit, with CLAT-PG score also accepted for candidates who appeared in the Common Law Admission Test for postgraduate law programmes.
Ques. Can LLM graduates from RRBMU appear in UGC-NET Law?
Ans. Yes, LLM graduates are eligible to appear in UGC-NET in Law (Subject Code 58). Qualifying UGC-NET with JRF opens a funded research fellowship for doctoral studies in law at accredited institutions. Qualifying without JRF makes candidates eligible for assistant professor positions in government and aided law colleges. UGC-NET in Law is the primary route for LLM graduates from state universities to enter college-level teaching and legal academia in India.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation available for LLM students at RRBMU?
Ans. RRBMU provides separate hostel facilities for male and female students at its Alwar campus. Students admitted to the LLM programme may apply for hostel accommodation separately after receiving their admission offer. Hostel charges are not included in the programme fee of INR 1,21,000 and are payable as an additional component. Availability is subject to total hostel seat capacity and must be confirmed with the university directly at the time of enrolment.
Ques. What career options are available after LLM from RRBMU?
Ans. LLM graduates can pursue careers as law college lecturers after qualifying UGC-NET, as research associates in legal think tanks and policy organisations, as legal advisors in government ministries and public sector undertakings, and as advocates specialising in constitutional or administrative law. Opportunities also exist in international organisations and NGOs working on human rights and governance. Doctoral research in law (PhD) is also a natural progression after completing LLM from a recognised state university.
Ques. What documents are required for admission to the LLM programme at RRBMU?
Ans. Students must present original and self-attested copies of Class X and Class XII mark sheets, LLB degree certificate and all semester or year mark sheets or provisional certificate, CLAT-PG scorecard if applicable, category certificate for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, Rajasthan domicile certificate for state scholarship applicants, a valid photo ID such as Aadhaar card, recent passport-sized photographs, and a printout of the online application form and the admission offer letter issued by RRBMU.
