Ques. What is the minimum qualification to apply for Ph.D. Commerce at KKMU?
Ans. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised university. SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates require a minimum of 50%. A valid UGC-NET/JRF score or a qualifying score in the KKMU PhD Entrance Test is mandatory for shortlisting. Candidates must also submit a research proposal at the time of application.

Ans. Yes. KKMU conducts its own PhD Entrance Test as an alternative qualification route for doctoral admission. Scholars work under faculty supervisors and follow the mandatory course-work structure in the first year.
Ques. What is the duration of the Ph.D. Commerce programme at KKMU?
Ans. The programme spans a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years as per UGC PhD Regulations 2022. The first year is dedicated to mandatory course-work in research methodology and domain knowledge. The remaining years are used for independent research, data collection, thesis writing, and final submission. Extensions beyond five years are governed by UGC norms and require approval.
Ques. What is the total fee for Ph.D. Commerce at KKMU?
Ans. The total programme fee is INR 4,60,652, billed at INR 1,15,163 per year over a four-year cycle. Hostel accommodation is billed separately. KKMU Merit Scholarships of 25% to 100% on tuition apply based on qualifying exam performance. UGC-JRF awardees additionally receive a monthly fellowship of INR 37,000 plus HRA from the University Grants Commission.
