Ques. What is the eligibility for B.Des Communication Design Graphics at KKMU?
Ans. Candidates must have passed Class XII from any recognised board in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates require 45%. Fine arts, commercial arts, or design experience at Class XI/XII is an advantage but not mandatory. Admission is through the KKMU Admission Test or a portfolio review and personal interview conducted by the School of Design faculty. A creative portfolio demonstrating drawing, typography, or design sensibility strengthens the candidate’s application.
Ques. What subjects are taught in B.Des Communication Design Graphics at KKMU?
Ans. The 4-year curriculum covers drawing and visual communication fundamentals, typography and lettering, colour theory and composition, brand identity design, print design and layout, packaging design, digital graphic design using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, editorial and publication design, motion graphics basics, user interface visual design, advertising creative direction, and a final-year thesis or capstone brand project. The programme follows a practice-led model with a significant proportion of studio hours throughout all eight semesters.

Ques. What is the total fee for B.Des Graphic Design at KKMU?
Ans. The total tuition fee is INR 4,15,000 for four years at INR 1,03,750 per year across 8 semesters. Merit scholarships of 100% apply for Class XII marks of 80% and above, 75% for 75-79.99%, 50% for 70-74.99%, and 25% for 60-69.99%. An additional 20% tuition discount applies for siblings of existing KKMU students, single girl child, SC/ST/OBC candidates, and defence personnel. NSP Central Sector Scholarship of INR 12,000 per year is also available for eligible students.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation available for B.Des Graphic Design students at KKMU?
Ans. Yes. KKMU provides hostel facilities at the Bhilai campus for B.Des students, with hostel charges of INR 1,76,000 per year billed separately from the tuition fee of INR 4,15,000. Students should apply for hostel accommodation at the time of admission. The university facilitates education loan support through banks including Axis Bank, Bank of India, ICICI Bank, and SBI via the Vidyalakshmi Portal for eligible students who need financing for the four-year programme.
