Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Jalandhar Ph.D: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Sant Baba Bhag Singh University PhD Admission 2024 is open for all interested and eligible candidates for the academic session commencing in January 2024. Candidates can apply for PhD Entrance Test till December 15, 2023, by paying a registration fee of INR 2500/-.

The SBBSU PhD Entrance Exam 2023 Admit card will be published on December 15, 2023, and the exam will be held on December 17, 2023. The exam will be of 100 Multiple Choice Questions carrying 1 mark each (50 questions will be on Research Methodology and 50 questions will be on the concerned subject).

Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, established in 2003 offers a full-time Ph.D. degree across various disciplines such as Commerce, Management, Computer Science and Engineering, Microbiology, English, Computer Applications, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Physical Education, Administrative Law, Botany, Chemistry, History, etc. 

• Admission to the PhD course at SBBSU Jalandhar is based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination conducted by the institute, followed by an interview round. Candidates clearing any national-level Ph.D. entrance examination are directly eligible for the interview process.

SBBSU Jalandhar PhD Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates interested in applying to the university for doctoral programs need to qualify for their Master’s or any other equivalent program with a minimum of 55% marks.A 5% relaxation in marks is provided for reserved candidates.

SBBSU Jalandhar PhD Admission Guidelines

Admission to the PhD course is offered on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the written test conducted by the institute, followed by an interview round. 

Candidates who have already cleared any of the all-India entrance examinations for PhD such as NET/GATE/SET etc can directly appear for the interview. 

Application to the PhD programs can be done either in online mode or offline mode. The details are given below.

Application Procedure 

Online

• Candidates need to visit the official website of the university and click on the ‘Admission’ tab to register
• After registration candidates need to fill out the application form with all the relevant details 
• Finally, candidates need to submit the form and pay the application fee

Offline

• Candidates either can receive the prospectus containing the application form from the university by paying INR 999 or download the application form from the official website of the university
• Candidates who received the prospectus can fill out the application form, attach all the required self-attested documents, and submit the form at the SBBSU admission desk
• Candidates who have downloaded the form need to deposit INR 1000 to the bank specified by the university, they need to fill out the form and send the form along with the payment details to the university

Candidates who have not qualified for any entrance exam need to qualify for the written exam conducted by the university. The names of the selected candidates are given on the official website and these candidates can then appear for the interview round. Candidates selected after the interview can go further with the admission process.

SBBSU Jalandhar PhD Course Details 

• SBBSU Jalandhar offers a full-time PhD degree with a minimum duration of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years. 
• Each fellow should get himself/herself enrolled in a particular discipline. He/she has to prepare a thesis under the guidance of a mentor which will be assigned by the institute.
•  On submission of the thesis, he/she must appear for a Viva round. 
• The PhD degree will be awarded on the basis of the quality of the thesis submitted by the student/fellow and also on the basis of his/her performance in the Viva round.
