RCU Palamu Ph.D Physical Education: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Total fees for the minimum three-year Ph.D. programme amount to INR 3,81,000 comprising annual tuition of INR 1,00,000, examination fees of INR 10,000 per semester, and one-time charges of INR 21,000 (prospectus, admission, and registration fees) payable in the first year.

Ans. Candidates must hold an M.P.Ed or M.Sc (Physical Education) degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 55 percent marks. SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates require 50 percent as per UGC norms. UGC-NET/JRF in Physical Education is an added qualification.

Ans. UGC-NET or UGC-JRF qualified candidates in Physical Education are exempted from the university’s own PhD entrance test. However, they must still complete the interview and research proposal presentation before the doctoral committee.

Ans. Research scholars can work across sport and exercise science, kinesiology, motor learning, sports nutrition, physical education pedagogy, sports psychology, coaching methodology, and the physiological impact of physical training programmes.

Ans. PhD Physical Education graduates can work as university and college faculty, research scientists in sports institutions, coaches and athletic trainers, physical education officers in government services, and advisors for national sports bodies.

Ans. UGC-JRF qualified candidates receive a fellowship of INR 37,000 per month for the first two years, enhanced to INR 42,000 per month from the third year, as awarded directly by UGC. SC/ST/OBC scholars may also apply for government scholarships via the National Scholarship Portal.
