Ques. Is there any entrance exam for the Diploma in Yoga at Gurugram University?
Ans. No, there is no entrance examination. Admission is purely merit-based on your 10+2 aggregate marks. You apply online, a merit list is prepared, and shortlisted candidates are called for physical counselling at the Department of Studies in Arts and Culture.
Ques. What is the difference between the Diploma in Yoga and the B.A. in Yoga at Gurugram University?
Ans. The Diploma in Yoga is a 2-year programme (4 semesters, 88 credits) with a fee of Rs. 30,470 per year, while the B.A. in Yoga is a 3-year programme (6 semesters) with a lower annual fee of around Rs. 10,470-12,370 per year. The Diploma is more intensive and career-focused, covering yoga therapy, naturopathy, and meditation techniques in greater depth, whereas the B.A. is a broader undergraduate degree. Students who want a quicker, more practice-oriented qualification often prefer the Diploma.
Ques. What career options are available after completing the Diploma in Yoga?
Ans. Graduates can pursue careers as yoga instructors in schools, gyms, and wellness centres; yoga therapists in hospitals and clinics; wellness coaches; corporate yoga trainers; yoga researchers; and consultants for yoga-based health programmes. The programme also prepares students to assist physicians in yoga therapy at hospitals. Further education options include B.A. Yoga, M.A. Yoga, or M.Sc. Yoga from various universities.
Ques. Is a summer internship mandatory in this programme?
Ans. Yes, a summer internship after the 2nd semester is mandatory for students pursuing the full 2-year Diploma. The 4 internship credits earned during the summer internship are counted in the 3rd semester. This internship provides hands-on experience in yoga teaching or therapy settings.
Ques. Can students from outside Haryana apply for this programme?
Ans. Yes, students from outside Haryana can apply under the All India Category (AIC) quota. Out of 30 seats, 4 seats are reserved for AIC (General) and 1 for AIC (EWS). Haryana domicile students get priority in the state quota seats. The application fee for General category students is Rs. 1,000 (non-refundable).
