RUHS BASLP FAQs
Ques. What is the scope after completing BASLP from RUHS?
Ans. BASLP graduates from RUHS can work as audiologists or speech-language pathologists in government hospitals, ENT departments, rehabilitation centres, and special schools for children with hearing or speech impairments. They can also register with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) to practise independently. Advanced specialisation is possible through M.Sc or M.Cl.Sc programmes in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology.
Ques. How many seats are available for BASLP at RUHS and is competition high?
Ans. RUHS College of Allied Health Sciences offers only 5 seats for BASLP, making it one of the most limited intake programmes at the university. Candidates must secure a strong merit rank in RUHS CUET 2026 to stand a chance in counselling. Students who are not allotted in the first round can try subsequent rounds, though seats are unlikely to remain unfilled for long.
Ques. Is registration with any professional council required after BASLP?
Ans. Yes. BASLP graduates must register with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) to legally practise as audiologists or speech-language pathologists. RCI registration is mandatory for clinical practice and government employment in this field. The RUHS curriculum is aligned with RCI-approved norms to make graduates eligible for this registration directly after completing the course.
Ques. What is the total fee for BASLP at RUHS and are there concessions available?
Ans. The total tuition fee for the 3-year BASLP programme is INR 63,000 as per the 2025-26 fee structure. SC/ST students and Rajasthan domicile holders may receive additional fee concessions as per Rajasthan government rules. Students can also apply for NSP Post-Matric Scholarships covering actual tuition and maintenance allowance.
Ques. Does RUHS offer hostel accommodation to BASLP students?
Ans. RUHS campus at Sector-18, Pratap Nagar, Jaipur has limited hostel accommodation. Availability for BASLP students depends on campus capacity at the time of admission. Students are advised to inquire directly with the RUHS College of Allied Health Sciences about hostel availability during document verification after Round 1 allotment on 22 July 2026.
Ques. Can BASLP graduates work in schools for hearing-impaired children?
Ans. Yes. BASLP graduates are well-suited for positions in special schools and integrated educational settings for children with hearing impairment or speech and language disorders. Many state governments and private trusts run schools and institutes under the RCI framework that specifically recruit BASLP-qualified professionals for assessment, therapy, and educational support roles.
