Ques. Is UGC-NET/JRF mandatory for admission to the PhD (Management) programme at JLU Bhopal?
Ans. UGC-NET/JRF is not strictly mandatory for PhD admission at JLU Bhopal, but it is one of the accepted qualifying exams. Candidates who hold a valid UGC-NET/JRF score are generally given preference and may be exempted from appearing in the JLUET (JLU Entrance Test). Ans. The PhD (Management) programme at JLU covers a broad range of research areas under the Jagran Lakecity Business School. Students can pursue research in domains such as marketing management, financial management, human resource management, operations and supply chain management, business analytics, entrepreneurship, international business, and organisational behaviour. The specific research topic is finalised in consultation with the assigned research supervisor after admission. Candidates are advised to identify a potential research area and prepare a preliminary research proposal before applying.
Ques. How long does the PhD admission process take at JLU Bhopal from application to joining?
Ans. JLU follows a rolling admission process for PhD programmes, meaning applications are accepted throughout the year. Once you submit your application online and pay the application fee of INR 1,100, the admissions office typically processes it within 7 working days. Shortlisted candidates are then called for JLUET (if applicable) and a personal interview. After the interview, the admission offer is issued, and candidates must accept it and pay the seat reservation fee within 7 days. The entire process from application to joining can take approximately 3 to 6 weeks depending on the time of application.

Ans. Yes, JLU specifically offers a Working Professional PhD track for candidates who are currently employed. This track allows you to continue your job while pursuing doctoral research. The fees for the Working Professional track are higher at INR 1,75,000 per year compared to INR 1,00,000 per year for the Full Time track. Ques. Are there any scholarships specifically available for PhD students at JLU Bhopal?
Ans. JLU offers academic excellence scholarships for PhD students based on their CGPA in the qualifying postgraduate degree. Students with a CGPA of 8.1 to 8.9 are eligible for a 50% tuition fee waiver, while those with a CGPA of 7.5 to 8.0 can avail a 25% waiver. Additionally, the Chancellor Freeship is awarded to 15 exceptional students per year across all programmes, which can cover up to 100% of the course fee. Sports scholarships under the JLU Elite Athlete Program are also available. All scholarships are applicable only on the first year's tuition fees, and continuation is subject to annual performance review. Students must submit an SOP along with their scholarship application.
