Caution Money of INR 10,000 is refundable upon successful completion or withdrawal as per UGC Refund Policy.

JLU Ph.D. English Literature Admission 2026

JLU Bhopal Ph.D. (English Literature) admissions for 2026 are currently open. The university accepts applications through its own entrance test JLURET as well as valid UGC-NET scores. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Master's degree (MA in English Literature or equivalent) from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates).
Candidates appearing in the final year of their Master's program are also eligible to apply provisionally.
A valid UGC-NET score in English is accepted and may be used for shortlisting; JLURET is the university's own entrance test for Ph.D. admission.

Admission Process

Register and fill the online application form at apply.jlu.edu.in and pay the application fee of INR 1,600.
Appear in JLURET (university-level entrance test) or submit valid UGC-NET scorecard.
Shortlisted candidates are called for a Personal Interview (PI) with the admissions committee of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Humanities.
Upon selection, a Provisional Admission Letter (PAL) is issued within 7 working days.
Sign the refund undertaking form and deposit the seat booking amount of INR 35,000 within 7 working days of receiving PAL.
Check scholarship eligibility, collect and submit the Scholarship Application Form from the Admissions Office.
Deposit the full first-semester fee and complete registration at the Student Section office.
Submit Post-Graduation marksheet and other mandatory documents for doctoral admission verification.

Scholarship amounts are adjusted at the beginning of the semester; scholars do not need to pay the scholarship amount upfront.
